Those that really want these are going to be tracking/autox their cars. I would want the extra strength with the adapters.

If I am wrong please learn me. I am still doing my own research here.

I'm going to use the rod ends for my daily

My point regarding the adapters is that if they're made out of chromoly, vs. tapping chromoly tubing, there shouldn't be much difference. But I don't know that for fact, I just know that the adapters are very commonly sold. Maybe because they make fabbing much quicker?

Another positive side-effect of using the tube adapters is that it forces your tubing size to be a bit larger, which may or may not be beneficial.

ON your daily. Nice! I agree though that there shouldnt be much difference. I guess the adapters would make it easier to fab. Hmm.... Its not cheap no matter what.

SoloSol are you sure about those prices? 9.95 for 4 bolts? Are they made out of gold or something?! Have you checked any other places?

Yeah I am sure. Those are for the jam nuts.

I just found a place kind of local to me that sells them for .90 a piece. If I can get over there Monday I can maybe buy a few things and see what we can put together. The way I see it though Its still going to cost every bit of $75 to a $100 bux for each arm.

Sure you could make it out of smaller pieces. Nearly all the side loads your rear suspension sees is transferred to these arms. That choice is up to you.

I will not be making these. When I am through I might be able to provide you with all the information to make your own.

Agreed, the price for jam nuts seems a bit high... but they do need to be strong, along with the rod ends.

I agree on the price range as well, I don't see it happening for less than that.

I took another look at the Ingalls arms last night. You can order them with Poly bushings.
The bushings are sleeved and sell for $66 ea on their site. What that offers to us though is all the legal protection you would not have otherwise.

I know the horror stories of poly on our cars. What are your thoughts on that for these? Take em off and grease them every so often?
Running Rod ends you probably would have to replace those every so often....

$66 a bar is a pretty decent price!

Although I can't comment on the suspension binding, I'm sure that greasing them will help. For what it's worth, Mobil 1 makes a synthetic grease as well.

They also make greasable rod ends, but I haven't been able to find any (affordable) ones for our application yet. I think they'd last a good bit with rod end boots on them and regular maintenance. The rod ends I got have a chromoly body and hardened steel ball. I would like to have a chromoly ball though.
