I'm down to these last 4 possibilities..

Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S
Toyo Extensa A/S
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position
Yokohama AVID H4S

Your list seems a bit weird to me as usually the exaltos are really expensive and the H4S are really cheap. My bro ran the H4S on his civic for a couple of years and they are good all around tires. I wouldn't call them too sporting, but they did well in both wet and dry, and were tolerable in a dusting of snow. I have wanted Exaltos for a while (more the summer version), but can't find them for under 120 or so. Why not just get the 512's again as they seemed to serve their purpose when they had tread and are cheap? I would much rather own 512's than H4's. Or why not go to a junkyard and get some used tires super cheap to tide you over to spring?

well they were about the same price on Tire Rack, maybe $20 different for the Yokohoma's and the Michelin's...

I guess what I have is probably better than what I'd get at a junk yard..

I priced out the Bridgestone's today, $428 mounted, balanced and that includes tax.. I called to late and will have to call back in the morning for the prices on everything else..

Holy crap that's expensive! These are on the stock B13 14" rims? On discounttiredirect.com you can get falken ziex 912's for 55 each (the 512's are 52, but you don't seem to like them), free shipping, and most places will mount them for 15 or less each. At 15 each to mount/balance, you're looking at $280 out the door. And don't be so sure about the junk yard solution. You may have to cobble together 2 different tire types, but they will have plenty of life still, you can even check the date on the tire to make sure they are recent. I thought you were just looking for a cheap solution until spring. If you're going to spend that much on the Bridgestones, I guess you are looking for one for a while? Here's the link to the falkens:

Sorry, I misread your first post and thought you were putting them on 14"ers. If you go with 195/60/15 on your B14 rims, and can live with a slightly off speedo, you can get the 912's for 59 (57 for the 512's), you would still be under $300 installed if you pay 15 ea for mounting/balancing.
My comments in the previous post about used tires still stands.

yeah i see this months later.. I was originally going to put all seasons on my B14 wheels, but then sold my B14 wheels.. so I ended up putting tires on my B13 wheels..

Yeah so it turns out that my rear wheel bearings were the culprit.

The tires were fine... The noise did not go away when I put brand new michilin pilot exaltos on my car, but it sid go away this weekend when I relaplaced both rear wheel bearings.

Tires can get loud when they wear out, but not that loud.

My Miata came with a set of Falken Ziex 512s. Decent tires. Couldn't hear them, but then again I drive it with the top down whenever possible, so wind noise might have something to do with it!
