Name that connector!
Putting my car back together after cleaning all of the emissions equipment and taking things apart for the first time, I have a connector that I can't find a use for. Is this supposed to be just hanging out like the one above the fuel rail, or is something supposed to go there? The green arrow is pointing at it. If it doesn't connect to anything, what is it supposed to be there for?

Thanks!

I'm 95% sure that it's for your coil. You know, that black thing with the red capped coil wire coming out of it. My SE-R is out of reach at the moment to verify, but I'm pretty sure.

I would hope if it was for the coil he would notice seeing as how it is practically resting on the coil.

Its either coil or o2...

Edit: The o2 and your ignitor share the same type of plug. Be sure you have them connected correctly or the car will not start. The coil should be a different style plug, I don't know them by just looking at it which one it is for. Someone else i'm sure will know.

You can be 100% sure now. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for trying to give me credit where I clearly deserve none! I really do know nothing about cars until I actually do it myself a couple of times. Then I can repeat the process until the cows come home. Until then, sometimes I can need help on what may seem to be the easiest things in the world!

The O2 plug is a three wire plug and runs out of the harness longer toward the front of the engine.

No problem on the help. These types of things happen to all of us.

HaHa it was almost telling you where to plug it. Any closer and it would be plugged in.

For future reference I believe there are only two connectors on the entire harness that are the same plug. The o2 and ignitor, and maybe over by the coolant temp I cannot remember exactly.

Generally if it will plug in it is where it is supposed to be.
