B13 SE-R versus ITR?
InB4 ****storm.

Trying to figure out what I'd like to do for a fun canyon cruiser/ trackday car if I were to have to get rid of my Evo in this **** economy. Anyways, this isn't a troll thread I just figured you guys might be more knowledgeable than the types of fanboys I'd find on Honda Tech since I used to have an SE-R and post up on sr20forum a lot back in the day. If I were to go B13 in this hypothetical case then It would be VE'd.

So far my arguments for both cars:

B13 SE-R:

Pros:
- cheaper
- underdog
- fond memories of my old B14 SE-R
- it won't get stolen from my driveway
Cons:
- suspension
- smaller aftermarket than any Honda
- non-existent local support

ITR

Pros:
- IMO better suspension setup (double wishbone versus B13 macpherson strut)
- better aftermarket
- better support locally
- lot's of Honda shops in my area
Cons:
- can not be driven anywhere unless canyon running or track due to theft
- did I mention theft?
- initial purchase cost much more than B13

Ok guys school me on your experiences with these cars be it track or building it. Oh yeah and this isn't one of those troll type comparo threads, I just wanted educated ideas on a backup plan if I end up selling my Evo.

IMHO, i would go b13 w/ ve + n1....
-like u siad, many many ppl don't even know about b13 se-r's, let alone ve's...
-no 1 ain't gonna steal it (vs the "highly glamour ITR)
-insurance a lot cheaper
-themoney u save getting b13, buy a full suspension...
-gotta bring out nissan/infiniti heads around ur area...
(i like having the "car" no1 has + being underdog....

I have a perfectly fine track/autocross/fair-weather SE-R built using readily available aftermarket parts, tools I bought from Harbor Freight and Sears, and information I found on the Internets.

Either your going to buy a honda or not lol. You buy a sentra so as to not drive the same car everyone else has.

The suspension setup being better isn't going to be that big of a deal. It has much more to do with how well you setup your suspension, and how well you drive.

yeah, i never have to worry about my car getting stolen, hell i have no problem leaving the windows down, car unlocked at a local walmart for half an hour or more. Not to mention i live in one of the highest theft rate cities in the US. We are 15 minutes from the border.

Again not like anyone with another b13 or b14 key cant open my door when its locked and start my car. Who wants a plain ol sentra anyways. Nobody. haha

ITR will get stolen, broken into, vandalized, alot more than an se-r.

Go with the b13 with VE motor and be done with it. Not to mention yeah with the money saved a good suspension and with more power it will own the ITR any day of the week. Back in the day i would own ITR's with a full bolt on JDM DE motor. Walk away from them very easily.

Get a p10. It has the awesome front multi-link suspension, and it doesnt have the rear beam like the b14's. P10's are pretty cheap right now, and its a plus if you can find a early 93.5 with cloth seats, no sunroof, no dual airbags, and manual transmission. You just gotta gut it to get a better power/weight ratio. -2300lb p10 is possible. Then just add VE+n1 cams, asp header, sr16 tranny (stock g20's have long ass gears).

You're going to have to explain why you're ditching the Evo because neither of your suggestions are as good of an option as the Evo.

Read his post. The economy. Its probably affecting him.

I say B13 VE + N1 cams. Front and Rear Progress sway bars and a GOOD coilover setup. Once youre all said and done you will have spent less money on the B13 than the ITR with minor mods.
