Not worrying about blowing up transmissions and breaking stuff is what makes me want the VVL and not turbo. There is only so much power that you can put to the ground through 205 width sticky street tires. Even 225 width R compound slicks would have trouble with the kind of power that a turbo with a strong trans could put down. I hear about a lot of people saying that they can't even get any traction until 3rd gear etc. That just doesn't sound too useful for me.

Also with the low torque that the SR20VE puts out, there isn't nearly as much of a need for a serious (and expensive) limited slip diff.

The engine swap looks really clean. I was just about to buy Benito's car last month until my work suddenly closed and I was out of a job. I should be back to work again next week, but most of the money that I was supposed to be using to buy his car went to paying bills.

This statement in incorrect in a number of ways.

Yes, you do need a good working limited slip with our vehicles. DE, VE, turbo, it doesn't really matter. I would hate to have my bolted-on NA DE with no LSD. That would seriously suck. Luckily most of our tranny options come with a factory LSD.

If you want a better, working, inexpensive LSD, you can simply add on a Phantom Grip unit to work in conjunction with the Nissan factory diff. You must get their racing springs, and stake the unit correctly. However, once installed, the Phantom grip works terrifically for both the street and track.

Here's my se-r just being hard parked in my grandmas garage and not registered for 18 months now. I bought a S13 and haven't even touched it in about a year. I need to get it going again and on the streets.

This is a very dusty engine bay and interior. I really need to show this car some love again, looking at these pictures makes me miss driving it.

There are some very clean cars in this thread, I don't think the sr20 community will ever die.
