Thread: mmm - tasty rusty crusty brake rotors barely working :(

if your brakes don't work well but you still see pad life left, remember to check the back of the rotors and contact too!!!!

Hey that looks really familiar. It's a miracle it braked as well as it did when my front driver's side seized and I drove on it like that for 2 weeks.

replace whole system, i sh1t you not anything else rusty on there will cause a world of hurt.. believe me an do it.. the bolts ,calipers,brakets,spindle.. rust is whack thats why i live in miami

front calipers are not seized, the brake bleeders broke free no problem.. the rear got a new 'install kit' and the front sliders were cleaned up and regreased (move nicer than before now)... not going to fix what ain't broke

It's all working nicely now! ...ready for winter.

Miami is way to hot and humid for me (I can't stand the summer humidity in Miami) ...no place is perfect to live IMHO and each has their issues (Miami bugs and 'tenting' the house always got to me too!).. I prefer Phoenix climate BUT hate the summers when its 100+ degrees for I dunno how many days. (dry heat or not, 100+ is too hot IMHO)

...I can't stand extremes... extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme humidity and bug bites like in Miami!

My ideal would be to spend summer's in Chicago and Winter's in Phoenix (like my parents do)... but I'm not retired and couldn't afford it :P

Chris, there are places like that. Mild climate changes, all four seasons, dry year round.
San Fransisco I hear is like that. I can tell you for sure Cape Cod is like that. =D
The coast keeps them cool in the summer, warmer in the winter, and always dry.

there was a time I almost moved to San Francisco (love the climate there) but then there was that nasty earthquake (scary stuff) and the cost of living and the fall of the dot coms (lack of jobs, etc.) so that never worked out..

..and I just could never see myself living on the east coast.. plus I've been there when it's brutal wet cold and they have hurricanes to deal with

Cost of living is keeping me from living where I'd like to as well. And fear of not being able to find a job for the both of us at the same time.

Not many hurricanes to worry about North of Virginia though.

yeah, i'd love to live out in the san fran area if I could be assured jobs for both of us, a nice place to live with oh a 6 car garage.. haha.. cause I'd love to drive the california tracks like Leguna Seca, Infinion, Willow, etc.!
