Thread: transmission questions

Yes I searched, didn't find exactly what I need.

I just got a B13 SE-R, and two of the bosses for the transmission mount are broken off of the case. So the transmission is hanging by a thread and the car is not drivable. I need to get a transmission on the car asap, so I'm trying to see what my options are.
Got a couple questions.

1. How much would it suck to run a non-LSD 5-speed temporarily?? A regular, lame, longer-ratio 5spd would be much easier and cheaper to find locally I'm sure. (I know I need the non-LSD driver's side axle for that)

2. Aside from a B14 trans, what other transmissions would I be able to at least swap cases with if necessary? Could I use a case from a G20 trans?


I haven't been able to really drive the car due to the fubar'd mount situation, so I don't know if I'll have a good 5th gear. Right now I just want to get the car rolling.

I drove on a non-lsd with my bluebird swapped 94'.....wasn't too bad.:o

Got an LSD trans out of a B13 at the junkyard for $89

does anyone know if i can use the B15 SE transmission?

Yes you can with some other mods, but like morgan432 says, search...
