Redline Tuning Hood Struts
I recently had some hood struts installed by Redline Tuning here in Michigan, and I wanted to let people know that this option exists. It is a fairly easy install, if you don't mind drilling holes into your car and you have access to a rivet gun. It holds the heavy B13 hood no problem, and its catch point is about mid-way up. That means that after you release the hood latch over the grill, you have to lift the hood up to about the halfway point before the struts take over. And then when closing it, it falls from the midpoint without issue so that it closes well. The only thing I am concerned about would be rust from the exposed metal where the holes were drilled. I am going to cover the rivets in silicon, but I would recommend treating the holes before putting the rivets in if you do it yourself. The website is here:
Redline Tuning - Hood Support, hood lift, gas springs, hood strut, hood struts, bonnet, bonet, hood lifters, hood damper, prop rod, hood lift, QuickLIFT, Quick LIFT
They do not list B13 sentra on their website just yet, but they have the kit designed and you should not hesitate to contact them if you are interested in it. Here are some pics of them on my car:
