New SE-R owner
I just found this site and im glad i did. Ive been searching for a b13
SR20 Devoted website and i couldnt find a really good one till i found this one. I was actually driving down the road here where i live (Napa,Cali) and saw a lowered white b13 SE-R sporting sr20-forum stickers ( if anyone knows where i can order some please let me know) and thats how i came across this website. my names Bill , im 24 , and ive been into tuning tuner cars for about 8 years now. Ive mainly always been into hondas/acuras. My last car was a 95 Prelude VTEC-T that i had built from the ground up , bought the car when i was 18 , when i sold it the ludes best time was 12.6@12 psi. Killed me to sell my prelude , but now i get to build my SE-R.

Anyway my car is a 1993 Nissan Sentra SE-R w/sunroof and power mirrors. The car is Cleannnnn i mean clean enough to eat off, Interior is IMMACULATE , it does need a new headliner though (only thing i have yet to fix), on the doors around the window edges the clear coat is peeling a bit. Next month the car is being painted championship white though. I bought the car for 1500 , which i thought was a screaming deal , since it came with new 17 inch gunmetal ADR rims with a chrome lip and a full exhaust. It needed new tires though which ran me a little over 500, i had to throw in a new tranny , so i got a used one from attarco with a LSD and bought a JGY 6 puck clutch kit which ran me 800 with the clutch , and i replaced the left lower ball joint. I got about 3k in her now but she runs like a top .My brother owns silver auto service here in town so access to a lift really comes in handy. While i had the trans out i inspected the motor front to back and it has Zero leaks , i just turned 170k in it so i suspect it has a used low mile motor in it. I also replaced the timing belt and water pump while i had the tranny out. This thing flat out runs though.

I had a few questions though. How much power could i get out of this thing all motor? I am going to swap in a Bluebird swap, but i want to wait until this motor is toast first.Right now all i have done is installed 3 inch K&N cone filter , advanced my timing from 15 degress to 20, It has a full cat back with a testpipe,B&M SS, and i installed a JGY 6 puck street clutch. Ive raced a few cars and even as it sits it flat out flys for what it is , last night i beat a dodge HEMI truck by a little over a car , it was preety much neck and neck through 1st and second , once i hit 3rd i pulled a full car though , i quit at the top of 3rd if id of stayed on it i would of kept pulling. My youngest brother has a 94 Prelude Si (h23 dohc engine) with a AEM cai , DC sports full catback , DC sport header , advanced timing , CF hood and the thing is gutted running 15 inch rims , and he can barely pull my lil nissan by a half car through the 1/4 , and i run full interior and 17s with just a i/e. On the highway though after 80 i can pull him preety good. Im sure just the way my car sits if i threw 15s or 16s on it , it would be a lot quicker. His lude does the 1/4 in 15.0@92mph so with my few mods im not dissapointed in it. Anyway for xmas , i bought my self some parts and here they are

Mods done already:
JGY 6 puck street clutch rated for 300 ptq
HID headlight conversion
K&N 3 inch cone filter with Autozone short ram pipe & MAF adapter plate
B&M SS
New LSD trans
Full exhaust to Apexi Muffler
JGY 2.5 inch test pipe
Advanced timing
Paid in full to have car painted Integra Championship white (goes in jan 5th)

TopSpeed Header
JGY pro sport intake manifold
JGY pulley kit with all new belts
Crower street cams
Crower valve springs
JWT ECU
Apexi SAFC

I did not pay retail for the parts , i got some used like the ecu (which is being tuned for my mods) , and the SAFC , i got em both for 300. Also got the intake manifold and pulley kit used , paid 250 for both. Brought all the parts in for under 1k. With that setup tuned im hoping to get anywhere from 180-185 whp , is that feasable ?? Im shooting for mid 13's to low low 14's all motor, i want it to be a sleeper.I also want to get rid of these 17's and find someone with some nice 15 or 16 inch wheels who would like to trade. When i get some more money i want to do the cobra MAF upgrade also , but the will come later, After Xmas and i get it back from the paint shop and get all the mods on and tuned im doing the suspension next. Im ordering KYB AGX adjustable shocks front , KYB GR2s rear , with Tein S-Tech springs , a whiteline front lower control arm brace, and rear white line sway bar.

Does this all motor setup for the street seem like it will acomplish the goals ive set for the car? Also does the suspension setup seem like a good street/track combo , i do plan on doing some autox with it as i know a few guys who have SE-R's who do very well with them. Im new to nissans and looking for a little guidance. Sorry for the long post , im just really excited about owning it , ive looked at them for about 5 years now and now i own one, in 2003 i came close to buying a brand new one. Thanks for reading and thanks for your time , i now know what all the hype behind this little ride is about.

P.S if anyone knows where i can get those SR20-FORUM.COM stickers let me know , also if anyone in the bay area wants to trade my17inch gunmetal ADR rims with a 1 inch chrome lip and about 85% treadlife left on my hancook ventus V4 tires (170$ a tire have paperwork) for some Nice 15inch or 16 inch wheels w/tires and good tread life left also , PM me , ill take some pics and send them to you. Thanks.

welcome bro to the dark side lol. We want pics of the of your classic. A all motor Sr20de not going to give you much bro. Pm Andreas Miko if you want to get into all motor Sr20VE. VE is the answer to Vtec. Look on the how too and the tech section on the forum. Do a search to , there is just way to much info to post up here

Welcome.
The stickers are made from someone on this forum.
You will not make 180 whp with a DE. With a VE, thats easy.
Please read the suspension thread prior to your decision on suspension.

welcome, like those two said... haha. not w/ a DE, just boost dude. boost is so much fun :-) but w/ a Ve you'll get that power.

VE is nissans version of V-tec.

hmm. I thought i could because there is a 91 SE-R around here , its krider racings se-r , they have the same similar mods in a DE and they are pushing 175 to the wheels with basically the same mods. What am i looking at in terms of power then , its gotta be about 130-135 at the wheels right now, with everything thats going on its gotta hit atleast 165+

put up a "b13 spotted" thread. lol some ppl do that to find other members in the area. or you can go to the california chapter and look in the north california forums. that would probably be a little easier

Much, much too aggressive for an N/A SR20 engine.

No reason it couldn't be the original.

Your engine shouldn't have a timing belt. What belt did you really replace?

You'll probably struggle to break 170 WHP.

Good. Don't even bother with the N/A stuff if this is your goal. Or only do mods that will also work well on the turbo engine.

That shouldn't ever happen if you take care of it.

No. See my previous link.

Like others have said, read this first:

I would do KYB AGX dampers all around and either Hyperco or Road Magnet springs. Rear sway bar I'd do Progress instead of Whiteline.

HP goals, no. Drag strip time goals, maybe. Low 14s seem like maybe a possibility. Depends how much weight you want to remove. =/

Not exactly. I'd make a few changes.

Like I said, you've come to the right place. By the looks of your first couple posts you seem new, but eager to learn and well spoken (written?). You'll fit right in.

Also, the 15" wheels you're searching for are a good idea. Anything to get rid of the 17" things you have now.

Hey welcome to the B13 section, as you may or may not know by now that's the original pocket rocket that started it all.

Really the only thing i can say about having a b13 is i guess it's an addiction like heroin.

The more power you get out of it , the more you want.

Welcome to the most informative site know to the SR20...

I think your thinking of there drag strip clutch. The replacment clutch i bought from them is there street/strip clutch , it has a very good pedal feel with an awesome bite. I replaced the timing "chain" on it , sorry just used to saying belt , as i said i came from hondas/acura , i even went to school for them and am a certified honda tech, just used to certain terms , it actually tripped me out when i went to replace it and saw a chain haha. Most of the parts i got if not all will swap over to the turbo motor , so i might just go that route since it seems you can aquire them for dirt cheap.
