if you had researched it before hand you would have known it was the maf and the ecu went into limp mode, you could have just drove the car home no problem, just not be able to rev over 2500 rpms. But it would have made it. More than likely either the clip came unplugged, wire broke, or maf is no longer working. No need to check the alternator.

Yeah thats true, but I wouldn't even know what to search for if I didn't have the problem with my car. Plus, I didn't want to drive it home, cause I thought it was something that had to do with my internals in my VE, and I didnt want to make matters worse. I'd rather pay the towing fees than buying another VE, or even a DET. But hey, you live and you learn, now I know. Thanks for the input though

I'd have done the same damn thing. Had that sucker towed, for the same reasons that you did. Scared to make things any worse.

Glad it is only your MAF. That ain't terrific, but it could have been something catastrophic.

And damn...we have a bunch of mechanically savvy and helpful dudes on this forum.

Haha same thing happened to me a day or two after I got my car.. but I remembered a friend's 300ZX which had a maf problem doing the same thing, so luckily I was able to figure it out on the spot.
