Thread: Storing my Classic

I'd just fill up on gas. A full tank is cheap now, (but election day is passed) when I stored my car Gas cost well under $2 a gallon.

I even put extra oil in mine. Just drained it before I drove it the first time down to normal. Drove down the block to my mechanic who drained the tank and disposed of the gas, inspected the car and got me back on the road.

The car is still running with that engine and a T25 40k+ and 5 years later. I sold it to a guy in Cincinnati.

Bring it down to me. Ill drive it for your..really. I have a very clean rust free 91 too without all the extras. They sound like twins actually. I would drive it once a week for you. I live in the country so you would not even have to worry about somone tampering with it...my wifes a cop and there is a cop car in the drive way all the time. I would put fresh gas in it and keep everything clean and we dont live that far apart. Just a thought.

BTW leave me a email addy and i could send monthly pics. Send me the funds once every three months and i would change the oil out as well.

It's a thought, but I need to figure out my house situation first..

Dang, so driving it once a week is a no no? My se-r is in "storage". I try to start it up, let it warm up for a good while and rip on it down the street for a good 10 or 15 mins. WTF gives?

do you have a garage where your currently living? if so are you selling that place?

But if you are I would see if a friend might store it for a small fee. And you just set up how its stored at his place.

quick question, what is the whole point of jacking the car? to relieve pressure from the wheels to keep them from becoming lopsided? or just for the tires sake?

My tires are toast and I plan to replace them when I get back anyway, so do I really only need to worry about the gas tank and motor?

i think the whole jacking up the car is if you were to put it in storage and someone would want to steal it wont? i might be wrong.

I thought it was just because you had taken off the wheels, so there was nothing for the car to sit on.

the jacks are so you dont flat spots on your tires from just sitting from what I have been told. No reason for you to jack it up if your getting new tires. I would just worry about your engine and the gas tank.
