OEM Roller Rocker Tune anyone?
I want to play with it and do comparison dyno runs (stock vs tuned RR).

I will be dealing with such bin in probably two weeks. Not sure if the guy will let me spend enough time with his car so I can have it all sorted out, but will see. He just asked if I could do some basic things with it.
It will be a 10:1 roller rocker SR20 with just SSAC (stock exhaust and intake), 3J4 ECU. Runs really rich (lots of 11s @ WOT) and it can take some more timing as it shows lots of 17s and 18s.
Any of this will be helpful for you?

How are you guys pulling the bin out of it? It being a 32bit ecu and all .

I think I'm good though, I got some JDM P11 tunes, they will probably be a bit better then USDM ones, but I just want it as a base that's all .

Well.. it is actually 64bit ECU? I don't think there is any EUDM roller rocker on 32bit ECU. Same as with some of the lowport redtop SR20s (like mine).
For instance, below is the bin file of the 'slower' P11 SR20 roller rocker. For Europe, there are 2 SR20s in P11 - one is the black top and, the other is just regular silver/aluminium. First has 150hp, other 130. Both use 64bit ECU but just different PN.

Actually it's 32 bit, the bin size does not equate to what kind of chipset it is (I had this wrong myself!).

All of the OBD1 and OBD2 ECU's up to 2000 in US where 16 bit. OBD1 bins are 32kb, while OBD2 bins are 64kb. Then 2000+ they switched to 32 bit ecu's (which are not chip-able). The 32bit ecu's can be reflashable, but no one invested time or money into on our cars (See Cobb Tuning for all new cars though).

The tune you attached is definitely a 16 bit, OBD2/OBD2 style tune though. It utilizes target AFR's and a VE map. The XDF that I have was able to open it no problem. This XDF is just an cut down OBD2 XDF with hex values changed for the P11 tunes. I'm sure the XDF is going to be very similar to a VE one I have at home.

How do these ECUs look? Do they look like normal OBDI ECUs with Blue plug and all? These use the B15 MAF? Can you take pics?

I would call them OBD1.5, they are the same plug style, but the plugs are white. The plugs also secure wires much better then USDM OBD1 plugs (I repinned my B15 harness with JDM OBD1 white plug).

Another reason I call them OBD1.5 is because they went away from conventional fuel maps to OBD2 styled target afr fuel maps. Keep in mind Japan and Europe had OBD1 cars till 97.

I see, the plugs on the ECUs are white but on the harness are blue, correct?

Seeing the tune, the timing maps are kind of very weak...

Harness plug is also white. That's how you can tell a JDM vs USDM OBD1 harness.

Timing maps are very weak. Heck I ran 19* base no problem on my RR P11.
