So why were you saying the e60 was better than the ve maf? Or were you meaning better than the de

Bingo you got it. The way the Calum ECU works is just better then Nistune .

nistune is still some good stuff, atleast its easy to get an does a good job..

sure no tunercode but other then that its pretty close to the same thing..

i would take my nistune ecu's ANYDAY over the calum basic i had..

now put a calum realtime on my plate an sure i would love the shit out of it.. but they are hard to get

hope to see the jktuning realtime soon

too bad the company that bought calums stuff didnt do anything productive with it

I duno about that, if it were not for tuner code I'd say pass on the Calum Ecu. Nistune covers a broad range of ECU's where Calums is a smaller focus so a better fit if it's just the SR20/KA is the only ecu your tuning with. That is just the one bitch I have about Nistune is that there are alot of ECU's so no real focus is made. No rev limit control after 8100 is the biggest thing for me. I might try out the Nistronic realtime ecu if it ever comes out.

i might try out the nistronic r/t aswell when / if it comes out..

I did get tunercode to work with Nistune and nistune hardware. Took a few hours to figure out.

The only thing I cant do is modify the K value once I am connected.

Everything else works flawless.

I was going to go with a different MAF but Calum convinced to get and use an E60 instead.

There are some talks on the web about E60 being a bit better then even the Z32 in being able to linearly read the flow. E60 was on the RB25 Skylines too, which I dunno if that carries any weight.

Look at what I found though:

So they are very similar. Mind getting me the part number of your VE maf? I would like to do a more intensive search on them.

True Nistune does cover a broad range, but most people here only need it for an SR20. Don't get me wrong the Nistune software hands down is one of the best.

Hardware wise, I dunno, I keep on hearing negatives on how it uploads the bins, don't quite remember exactly but something about using consult?

No rev limit seems like an issue for all of our ECU's, though TunerCode does address that.

How much is a real time board for Nistune? I scored an OBDI RT for $450ish shipped. So it's not that bad .

The Nistune hardware is easier to install or swap if a core goes bad unlike the Calum. Uploading a bin is faster than using tunerpro/Calum.

I use both Calum and Nistune ECU's everyday. They both get the job done but the Nistune is just a step ahead.

I just stick to my basic daughterboard

I don't need to tune that much, being a daily driven car I just tune it to save gas and keep a chill timing map to avoid knock, then I can tune a bin for the strip at night. I just need to hook a borrowed wideband and in 1 day I could get the right bins for the whole season, swap chips in less than 10 minutes and I'm good to go.

I just tune the AFRs and try to stay away from knocks, that worked for me even being boosted.

Does anyone knows how to set a launch control in a OBD II? I even have 2 kinds of launch control (gas and spark) but no OBD II one
