Buy a burner then u can tune. Or get a nistune or some other realtime board then you won't be burning chips ever.

Lynch,

I am a little confused about the K-value for the Alfred bin (N60 maf one) as it seems to be different than the stock Calum-supplied rom's K-value (as per below pic). The question is: should I make it the same as calum's stock bin or there is a reason why that K-value is different?

Comparison of K-values between Alfred bin(top) and Calum stock N60 bin(bottom):

Also I have noticed that both the fuel and timing map resolutions go up to 81 and calum stock bin and another bin end on 68. If I am comparing apples to apples (looking at cell 67 on Alfred and 68 on Calum) I see that the timing at 6000rpm is at 31 for calum and 39(!) for Alfred's bin. Is that correct? Attached are the timing maps and fuel maps in the following order (top to bottom: Alfred timing, calum timing, alfred fuel, calum fuel).

I am just trying to understand behind the logic for these changes.

Thanks.

to tell ya the truth man i have no clue lol, the alfred.bin was dyno tuned.. the calum one is a stock one pretty much.. as for the k value i wouldnt really play wit it at all, but you NEED to find out what your afr's are man.. if your pretty close to your target afr's i wouldnt change the k value..

also i realize the resolutions are different.. i think its that way for better tuning up top but again, im not really sure..

when i made my n1 bin i used the pito fuel map and alfred timing map, i didnt really change much of the timing map but i totaly reworked the fuel map for the pito file cause i was way way to rich an i didnt really like the lay out... on the dyno i got my car to stay in the 12.8-13.5 range for the afr's i made a little more power when i played with them a bit but i only had 4 runs i also played with the timing map but when i raised or lowerd it on the top end it lost power.. so i left that alone an just kept the fuel map changes..

invest in a wideband..

Lynch, the N60 version of the Alfred bin does not work, when I turn on ignition the fans go on and the car does not start. I even tried it on 3 different sets of chips and no luck

Any ideas what it might be? (I am back to DE maf for now).

Thanks.

Sounds like the chips are not taking the program or you are not addressed correctly. You have to start at address 008000 and you must erase before burning the new program on.

Can someone pm me the bin? It sounds pretty aggresive. Also it seems that your computr is in safe mode, I had this problem before, I got a bad set of chips and the burn would come up fubar'd.
