I don't think the bigger sway bar is the way to go. We had this discussion for a long time with a friend and we agree that improving grip in front is the way to go - not losing in the rear!
A bigger rear bar will make it worse, yes. That will tighten the rear end even more, making both left and right sides work together even closer and bring that one wheel up when the cornering loads increase on the outer wheel.
How tight or loose the rear end will be to have the best times will be different in every driver, let alone track... But the idea is better than trying to stiffen the rear to the point of no effect. Eventually the rear end stiffness will cause a snap when it becomes excessive. (as categorized from the OEM trait has having trail braking oversteer that we know of).
Ultimately, the game is how to play the slip angles to the favor of each driver and desired circumstance. This is why bigger, wider, stickier tires in the front will help toss around the rear. The only problem with doing this in a FF chassis is you have no throttle to correct the ass-end. And one of the reasons why I prefer to still watch BTCC racing to this day. Seeing FF cars drive all out is a bit different than FR chassis cars. Kinda fun to watch at that level I must admit. (And I always enjoy watching
