Taking front grill off?
I was reading an article about the '13 gt500 that said it didn't come with a grill due to extra cooling.

Have you guys experimented with this? I mean, I know ours is nothing more than a cheap plastic piece with horizontal lines, but I wonder if it would help cool temps by 1 degree I'd take it off just for track days. Or maybe even a mesh grill would be better and still protect the radiator?

I wonder if it would have been cooler with a different or no grill?

Ya I think that's what I'm going to do. Without running a grill at all I'd be afraid of a rock or something puncturing the radiator.

We ran a couple of times with no grill and never saw any marginal difference on our mechanical temp gauges FWIW <--- water with water wetter in the radiator is where we noticed a difference actually!

McCoy on the old forums said taking the grill off dropped temps 10-15F on his B13:

So I bought a $20 honeycomb b14 grill off ebay on a whim and after examing it and my original one, the original one is WAY more free-flowing than the honeycomb one. I would *not* recommend the honeycomb grill. I think the OEM Lucino grill is actually not as bad as it has a lot more open holes, but this one has a bunch of closed holes where the Nissan badge and stuff goes. The oem b14 plain one actually has holes THROUGH the Nissan badge..wow, never expected that.

Having said that..I'd stick w/the stock plain lined b14 grill or check out the Lucino. Stay away from the honeycomb one if you want something that flows better.

My water temp gauge temperature reads lower when I run without my grill.
