I'm a current rally driver, I rally a b13 I by all of my safety equipment at Safe Drives - From race car to street car auto safety products! ask for Charles , very nice guy and very helpful with good prices , tell him Gus from CT with the rally sentra send you .
If you planing in using a after market race seat and harnes , first of don't use a 4 point go with a 5 or better SFI cerefite don't use the cheap eBay stuff , for the seat if you planing in using this car for track most of the time go with a fix back , SFI or FIA , the padding is a very helpful item in a car with cage event if you are using a helmet , I know this because I crash and roll 2 b13 in the last 5 years .
Charles sale all of the item you can need for your build.
I have 2 Momo Start fiberglass seat FIA cerefite that I was thinking to sale there use in good conditions PM me if interested or if you have any question about car cage or safety equipment .

Yes 5 point minimum, 4 points are no good. They're good for autocross but that's about it in my opinion.

They make anti-submarine 4-point harnesses. Have you seen them?

Seats are a personal fit thing. I would try sitting in as many seats as you can find before choosing one. I could tell you what fits me well, but it might not fit you.

On the 4 point topic, some sanctioning bodies won't allow a 4 point of any kind, just 5 or 6.

Per my knowledge, Schroth is the only manufacturer that offers a SFI rated 4-pt harness. All other SFI rated harnesses are 5, 6, or 7 pt, 5-pt being the most common. I'd choose the "cam lock" buckle over the older "latch over link" buckles, although the older style is noticeably cheaper. Note: I rode with an instructor (NASA-MA) that uses the Schroth in his street/track E30. But as Blair mentioned, I've heard many clubs won't allow ANY 4-pt harness in the TT or race groups.

Take note, installing an aftermarket seat is not easy unless you already have a seat frame installed. These photos of my white '94 B13 are fine for the street and moderate track use, but my race car is better because the seat base frame is connected to the rollcage. (sorry, no photo)

I found the exact rule in the CCR:
Effective May 1,
2011, the only four-point belt systems that are allowed for use in HPDE / TT are
1) those that carry an “FIA B-xxx.T/08 certification, or 2) those that carry a label
from the belt manufacturer stating that the belts meet Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standard (FMVSS) 209 AND that the belts were designated for the
specific vehicle (e.g. “For use only in BMW E36 models”). Such label must be
easily visible to the NASA inspector. Note- four-point belt sets that have a DOT
certification alone are not allowed.

I didn't remember it allowing them at all.

I like your seat mount. I may have to steal that idea for my street/track toy.

Schroth's website isn't clear which SFI standard/rating it's 4-pt harnesses conform. Although they do meet the DOT's 209 standard. BUT, except for one model, they're application is not car specific. So, in short, Schroth does not seem to meet the CCR.
My one B13 that is still tagged for the street has dual belt arrangement - 6-pt for the track, and (OEM B14) 3-pt for the street.
Blair, let me know if I can help if/when the time comes to fab/install the seat mount. Don't you travel to Summit Point once in a while? Or was it VIR?

Definitely need to look into the 5-6 pt cam lock harness w/bar while converting my stock B13 3pt to a B14 3pt so I can run a dual belt setup. Good thread. Corbeau makes drop in sliders for the B13 so it's time to find a fixed back comfy seat from them that fits the bill for road racing.
