An article on getting involved in HPDE and TT.
Hello all...
I just wanted to share an article that I wrote about my experience with NASA and HPDE that I think some people might find interesting. It should give people that are not familiar with HPDE or who want to participate a good look at what is involved and what to expect. This article is the first in a series of two articles that are documenting the process of Moving through HPDE on the way to TT. Check out the link below for the full article...

A big thanks to Tom Hitzeman at F-51GT Motorsports Photography for the on track shots!

Great read. Looks like they have a good set up for driver development. Up here (BC) you just need 6 track days! or a 3 day school.

Wes, everything you described is spot on as to the way NASA operates. I'm in DE3 and with the amount of cars we have for each 20 min session it can be a handful with ACRs, Porsche GT3s, Vettes & everything else all around you jockeying for positions. Even the DE4 guys come down for DE3 to warm up for TA & TT. We have members that have been in DE3 for a few years and when they go to DE4 the number of entrants drops by half. Here in AZ we are allowed to do Time Attack from DE3 & up and that seems to satisfy a lot of members who are not committed to obtaining a competition license. For anyone who decides to learn & drive with NASA through HPDE there is something for everyone. You can make it as fun as you like safely and learn a little bit about yourself along the way. Thanks Wes for making this article, looking forward to the 2nd one.
