we did use them today.. have to honestly admit we did NOT notice any difference in feel or handling between the 15x8 vs. the 15x7 with the same hoosier 225 45 15 mounted and actually got better lap times on the lighter 15x7s

Curious, but great information. I've been wondering about 15x8s but also concerned if my low power engine would struggle. I'll stick with light 15x7s ... but if I ever have a chance to try 15x8's I'll take it!

That is weird.

Alot of miata guys will run 15x9 with 225... no issues with low power and wheel weight. They all rave about the handling increase with wider rims too.

Traqmate data to see where time difference actually came from?

We haven't filtered through the traqmate data at this point to try to analyze what exactly happened where. Keep in mind the 15x8 wheels are 2 pounds heavier than the 15x7 wheels (what we suspect to be the difference in time). This also was a new track to us and will be using them at our 'home' track where we get the same consistent times so-to-speak next month for the next NASA event and will see if anything changes (if we get better/same/or worse again times).

Stay tuned.

Wheels were from JLB out in California and cost $130 each.

okay, we finally looked at the traqmate data tonight

The biggest time difference ends up being in the longest straight until turn 3 at Putnam.

If someone wanted to see the actual traqmate data, PM me your email and I'll send it your way.

Blackhawk June 12th weekend is next and a track we know really well so it will be interesting to see if the same loss of time happens in the 2 straights or not.

(BTW: the difference in the straights seems to make sense given the 2 pound per wheel weight difference IMHO)

What suspension are you running on the P10?
