We still suspect the oil pump and the tabs broken off from the overrev resulting in no oil pressure but we'll see....

In case I didn't mention it before, the oil was NOT silver (no evidence of spun bearings) when draining it...

Anyway.....

Here are photos for everyone to see:

And the verdict IS....

#4 is bad.. spun bearing from over-rev.. so yeah.. the block is okay but not the crank.. stretched... done...

Well, we are getting closer to install time..

Today I picked up the resurfaced flywheel, fedex delivered a brand new clutch kit AND I picked up the engine:

well, had some work to do on the weld repair.. still working on it now but it'll be a nice repair and work nicely in the end...

It's amazing what weld repairs can do for broken mounts off engine blocks these days (and it helps to have a cousin at a machine shop who can weld aluminum):

What happened to the motor mount holes on the block that you had to weld it and redrill?

Solid aluminum crossmember mounts...... Can I haZ?

what do you mean? I posted some of the photos.. but they were obviously completed (finished drill and tap and attached mount)

but if you meant why was the welding necessary in the first place? Its because this was from a part out car we did last november (99 g20) and as a result of the impact, the mounts were sheered off in impact (sheered off the block)

the solid mounts mike is going to possibly make some more over winter (off season) BUT they aren't cheap AND you have to understand that you still have to do some custom fitment since each car is going to be slightly different (you have to grind off some of the material)

heck, going to this different engine meant we had to grind off a bit more material again just to get them to fit... just the way it is when you go 100% solid with no give.
