Well, we moved the p10 from Steve's garage back to ours and got it set up yesterday..
Today the engine removal process begins:

so for the hell of it we just took off the VC.. and from this viewpoint, you'd never know anything was wrong.. so yeah, the bottom end is TOAST...

well, so far they found a little bit of brass and burnt metal pieces removing the upper and lower oil pan but no telltale sign YET of what exactly is broke in there....

wierd stuff..
#1 rod bearing looks fine.. no metal pieces there... ..just normal wear...
..starting to suspect the oil pump failed..... car ran about 20 seconds with zero oil pressure before being shut off so I dunno...
