Project P10 Race Car
well, for now it sits waiting for a replacement engine (thanks to an OOOPS missed shift TWICE scrambling the engine rendering it useless)....

Here is the details to date:

- Body is 1995 g20t (chassis) with 204k miles on it from California
- Hood is from 94 G20t (local donation)
- Trunk is from 94 g20 in arizona junkyard (donated T trunk to hood donor)
- Front bumper cover was new (had a loading incident on the trailer.. ooops)
- complete removal of airbag system done
- interior stripped minus the door cards and headliner at this time
- stock T passenger seat for the moment w/$850 OMP seat w/$150 OMP side aluminum mounts custom mounted to manual g20 seat track
- brakes were all new rebuild calipers, SS Goodridge lines, removal of ABS system and new lines routed in front without the ABS in place
- front brakes are p11 upgrade
- brake pads for track are DTC60 fronts, HPS rears
- rain tires are Direzza star spec 155s on stock 15" 240sx rims
- track setup is hoosier 225 45 15s on buddy club(aka kosie K1) 15x7s
- power steering cooler was added w/royal purple ps fluid in system
- radiator was new as of jan 2008 - water wetter with distilled water
- LSD tranny of course was kept in place with replaced axles
- solid aluminum motor mounts created and in place on p11 crossmember
- custom delrin bushings for upper front control arms to give negative camber
- energy suspension bushings throughout (including lower control arms of course)
- suspension is AMR coilovers w/firmer springs
- currently sporting momo competition steering wheel
- custom camera mount were passenger airbag used to be
- bluelight button is horn button
- SSAC exhaust header
- cat delete w/custom exhaust piping w/cherry bomb instead of stock muffler

Competed in Time Trial for the first time with NASA in October 2008 and set a track record in TTF at Autobahn full course
Competed again in NASA Time Trial in June and again set TTF track record at Grattan
Decided to compete in TTE to have more cars to compete with and got 1st place at Grattan.
Competed in TTE at Blackhawk (didn't even bother with TTF despite it being allowed/qualified for TTF) and got 3rd place Saturday and 2nd place sunday despite the missed shift and scattering the motor...

STAY TUNED

Canceled a few track days to allow weekend time to install replacement engine..

Goal of going back to Autobahn South Track July 18th and 19th with NASA and run in TTE or TTF (not sure which yet).

yes but not for a few months... he'd have to order more raw material, get cores and wait for our schedule to open up..

you can work on sourcing some cores for now if you wanted....

Its a tedious process (not like we have a CNC machine to do this).

(right now the priority is to get our p10 back on the road, do some maintenance on the miata and promised some help on a few other cars)

Sweet project! Keep the pics coming. Any chance that stripping the interior has left you with a black shift boot and bezel you'd like to sell?

IIRC, the car didn't have a shift boot left in any shape to reuse (worn out and tattered from california heat/sun I suspect)

not sure what we did with the bezel.. sorry
