Well thats a lame answer. Yeah, basically I would say only a moron would buy a R compound tire for a car that will be "99% street driven."

He's not even talking about to-and-from the track.

So essentially we're talking about R compound tires for street racing?

Yeah..I need a tire that is a hybrid between slick and drag, essentially a bfg drag radial, it gives you control and handling itstead of a drag slick that will get you nothing but a straight line.
I just can't drive the car because I can't get out of my driveway without me burning up the tires, there is too much power for the car, Im not gonna be racing the car I just want a tire that I can drive around on and not have to worry about not being about to go over 5000 rpms because the tires start doing a burnout even at 60 miles an hour.
Once I hit 5000 grand bye bye traction....

Ok honestly at first I regretted coming in here and reading this.

But I guess I should leave my input since I'm already here. To start with with that much hp 18's are STUPID. The tires you have barely fit and the 245's are just under a full inch taller. Your best bet is to get a 15x7 and MT 225-50 15's if you plan on actually putting any of that power at all to the ground.

thanks for the input the 18s came on the car when I bought it, I actually asked in a previous question if it would be better to get smaller rims on the car like 15s, I wanted input on what size rim would be the best and what tire would be the best for that application, so question answered thank you, but Im still leaning toward the bfgs, the mickeys are expensive and I hear the tread last a lot less. have you tried the bfgs? Also I don't drive the car on 450hp its tuned for it, but I drive very low boost.

Look at it this way. You are looking for traction in a fwd car with decent hp. Do you think you should get a tire from a company that makes street tires, or a company that mostly deals in drag slicks? Traction is obviously going to be better with the MT's. Cost and money spent is up to you. If you want I could actually give you a price on the MT's as I am a dealer for them. Never used those on my own car though, I use slicks. I drive like a grandmother on the street so my regular old Hankook 205-50-15's do just fine.

I am surprised those 18''s fit I thought they said not to use anything bigger than 17''. Me personally would not use anything bigger than 16'' but then again with 450hp those rules does not apply.

I would not say that he would be a moron.... just that who ever does has big pockets.

Trust me the 18s barely fit, I have springs on the car and its adjusted up right now..I can drop it all the way down so that you can't even stick a flip flop on it, but the 18s fit, but I will work on some smaller rims if I can find some
