B13 suspension advice
I need any advice for B13 suspension. It will be used for weekend car and hillcimb racing. I cant use coilovers in my class.

I was thinking about KYB AGX adjustable struts, but i dont know which springs. I saw Road Magnet, Hyperco.. or H&R (they are stiffer what ive heard).

So.. what setup are you using for road racing? Thanks

i would say a good combo is:
kyb agx WITH hyperco's OR RoadMagnets

OR

KSC's WITH RoadMagnets

(don't forget sway bars, Progressive, WhiteLine, or ST)
&
bushings (ES i believe are well recieved)

yeah, sure.. i want ES bushing set + rear sway bar.

Have anyone pics how car sits with Hyperco/Road Magnet? I saw Ben Fenner B13 with AGX + Road Magnet setup and front was too high.

None of those have a high enough rate for hard core track use. Remember B13's don't have much travel up front to begin with, so extra ride height may not be a bad thing.

What are the rules for your class?

I cant run adjustable coilover system.. only some better springs and struts. I dont know which choose.

Thanks for bumping. I missed this thread. If you're stuck with a strut and spring set-up without adjustable spring perches you should consider the KYB AGX struts and the Road Magnet springs as your easy go-to option. The struts are all right, and the springs are great. Road Magnets win out in your case because they are linear and not progressive like the Hypercos which are better for the street than the track. If what you say about the H&R springs is true (them being stiffer than the Road Magnets) then they sound like a decent option as well (Shawn B might correct me there). You run the risk of over-working the KYB struts though.

I assume it's possible to do custom shortened Koni struts while keeping the factory spring perch (shorten the strut body by cutting in the middle and welding it?). If this is the case and would pass the rules and tech inspection then this would be your best strut option as Konis (and Bilstiens) are unbelievable compared to typical stuff like the KYBs.
I'd pair this strut with the Road Magnet springs (or the H&R if they are stiffer and retain a decent ride height).

As for the Road Magnets in the front being too tall. Just cut a loop off the top (tight coils) of the spring and call it a day. I may do this too depending on how the front settles after adding the turbo weight.

Like others have said, this will make for a decent weekend warrior set-up, but will really leave you wanting more adjustability and performance if you're tracking the car a lot.

What i found in "suspension thread" H&R springs wouldnt work well with KYB AGX.
KoniĀ“s should be fine, but its not plug and play for me.

My car is sometimes daily, weekend warrior and i want some hillclimbs races too. So KYB AGX + RM sounds fine to me.

How do you like this setup? Also how much adjustabling stiffnes affect driveability? I mean more stiff setting help on track.

I set mine at 3 (out of 4) in the front and 6 (out of 8) in the rear. I forget where I read about the settings, but I think it's something like 1F and 2R is stock-like. 2F-4R is 30% stiffer, 3F-6R is 60% stiffer and 4F-8R is 90% stiffer than stock.
But really, I'm just pulling numbers out of my ass. I went with 60% stiffer all around and have been riding that way for months now. I only have daily driving experience on it so far (no racing) and it's stiff. It's not Megan coilover stiff, but it's not something to ignore. I'm really thinking for daily use you'd want to go softer, and I've been planning on doing 1F-1R for a while now, it's just a matter of doing it. I've been diagnosing other suspension problems for so long I didn't want to adjust anything just yet so it wouldn't hinder my diagnosis. I'm actually not expecting much of a difference, but hopefully the KYBs will surprise me.

If they do, I'd say they'd be great at 2F-4R for the street and 4F-8R should provide a welcome stiffness on the track.
