Well the slicks are the best hands down for grip.
For DOT race tires over the period of 10 years I have used Kumho, Toyo, Hoosier and now Nitto.

Kumho Victoracer greasy when hot but ok for the money. discontinued
V700 are better grip wise and for the money.
Never tried the V710. More an autocross tire.

Hoosier good grip, very pricey maby two good fast weekends out of a set.
A little harder to get a good setup they like very high spring rates.
You are not going to run Toyos and Hoosiers on the same spring and shock combo and get the same results. The Hoosiers will be a bit faster, but you are not going to get the full 2+ sec. a lap difference without tuning the suspension to the Hoosiers.

I ran alot of years on the Toyos with good results. Good grip, durable long lasting. The only size I ran on was the 205/50 15.

I just switched to the Nittos. 225/45 15. They could do with a heat cycle before hard us. It may be the tire size, lots of grip, even better durability than the Toyos. NOT the same tire as the Toyos as many believe.

Andy, thanks for sharing the video! Out of curiosity, what is your camera/mount combination? I am trying to figure out what I can use on my NX, but am concerned with all the NVH, I'll have a shaky smear instead of a decent video capture.

Thanks. I am using a I/O port vide camera mounted to the cage. the camera is a10 year old Sony digital tape camcorder. That's why my video quality is so poor. there are several smaller, lighter, safer cameras out there.
