I figured the title was self explanatory to anyone in the market, why would you buy some crap like this anyways. The saying goes, you get what you pay for.

wow! I bought the whole f1/xtd kit with the flywheel, pressure plate, and disk for my b14 about 16k miles ago. I had it on my de for about 4k miles then did a ve swap and reused everything except the t.o bearing. This fkn clutch grabs like crazy and i would def buy another. My VE is making 184 to the wheels and this clutch handles every bit of it, chirping the tires in 2nd everytime on a daily basis. I guess it varies from installer, car, engine, etc.

F1 Racing is fine... I have on on my drift car 480hp/460tq and it has held up great for a year of events and some daily driving before it went track only.

Most the issues are usually installer error with clutches period. If you look at the materials and manufacturing they are identical to pretty much all other 6 puck clutches. I would not hesitate to put one in my sentra when the stocker starts going.

lol ok Slick, haha you go right ahead. But ive yet to hear one good thing about F1 or XTD or any of those other cheapy brands yet. Maybe you got lucky. There is not much to installing a clutch man. Take old one off. Resurface flywheel if necessary, bolt new one on, and done. Nothing to it. Ive never had any problem with good quality clutches but have with F1 clutches especially. Again not my own purchases, customer purchases. Then they wonder why it only lasted 10k miles. lol

Maybe they are undersized for an sr20, or the people drive abusively.

Here is my car if you want to check it out. I have never had a bad experience with them yet.

Slick's KA-T

I would have to imagine something was seriously wrong if one of the springs broke free as in the first post of this thread. Say a mismatched to the power level or a serious manufacturing defect.

I highly doubt it's installer error that caused the springs to pop out of my clutch disk.

This is why I gave it a try, the honda guys use them down here with no hiccups. If it turned out to be a balls clutch like yours did on a more consistent basis I am sure everyone else would be running it point blank. If your have a great clutch holding 400hp for $120 that works Vs a clutch for $500 bones that does similar your dam fool to buy the more expensive one. It just didn't turn out that way for me.

Right clutch is a CHEAP ASS XTD racing stage 2 disc.. to the left is my NEW clutch masters stage 4.. Look closely spring is out of xtd clutch and completely messed up around all the other springs.. this was after about 2500 miles.

Goodness gracious! how many springs came out of that disk? After my springs popped out they did me a favor and tore into the crankshaft oil seal. Just a little bit, but it was gouged. What's funny is that no one is complaining of the center splines being stripped out. ACT. better take notes... That clutch masters unit looks solid though.
