i opened up my 96 b-14 se-r ECU and it looked just like the one on the installation manual :

Are you certain that it will not work?

Here is a picture of the inside of my ecu:

Talk to the guys over at Nistune or AutoVaughn, since I couldn't answer that question. All I know is that a P10 OBD2 ecu works in a B14 and the type 4 boards work in the P10 ecu. You can tell by the decals on the ecu cover that the P10 ecu's are an older style, so there maybe something different on the ecu.

It comes with the package.. Its the plms adapter + usb cable.. You can get a serial version also..

Here's a link to the cable itself but like I said it comes with the package..

all the 96 ecus should work. If you have the part number on the ecu I can find the correct address file. I have not had problems tuning the early ecus just the 1998 and some 1997. The boards are made to your ecu with the part number on it.

Nistune connects right to the ecu through the consult port so you don't need a USB cord coming out of the ecu. Thought I explained that before.

yeah, im used to having the usb cable come out directly from the ECU, cuz if u use the ports, u got to not also haul this box around and run the wire from the fuse box to the passenger side
