OEM Nissan Camber/Caster Plate Installation

The front camber plates are designed to give a maximum Positive and Negative camber adjustment of 1.3”. These plates are designed to work with factory suspension to full blow Coilover units. These camber plates are all rebuild able so if a part wears out you can e-mail us to get replacement parts. Please follow the instructions in this outline for a smooth and easy installation.

Once you have your wheels off and the car situated on jack stands please proceeded to step 2.

1. Start by taking off the strut bolts at the bottom. They will be 2 larger bolts.

2. Once the two bolts are off the bottom make sure that the brake hoses and any electric cables are disconnected and out of the way for easy removal of the shock.

3. Once the shock is out of the car you will need to get the spring off. If you are running a Coilover system you can unthread your perch and lower the spring tension and start removal of the top nut. If you are NOT running a Coilover system but, IE: factory springs of lowering springs, then you will need to get a spring compressor and compress the spring and then slowly take the nut off the top. Please refer to the directions on the spring compressor if you are to use one, OverKill will not be responsible for damages or liability that are caused.

4. NOTE: You do not need to take the spring off the shock, you can leave it on, unless you would like to replace the lower isolators or clean the housings now would be the time to do so.

5. Once the top mounts are off you can begin the installation of your new OEM Camber/Caster plates.

6. This step will differ between suspension systems. If you are running Coilovers you will first need to install your top hats. The top hats are the round items with the rotational bearing built into them. Weather you are running OEM top hats or your Coilover top hats you will need to grease the bearings up at this time. NOTE: OEM tophats rotational bearings must be installed a certain way or failure will occur, Washer, bearing,Washer. If you fail to do install them correctly the steering will bind shortly after installation. If you are running Factory springs or Lowering springs then you need to install your top hat. Once you have the top hat installed, place the rotational bearing back on top (it should stay on but sometime they need to be replaced or they fall off).

7. Once the top hats are installed and the rotational bearings are greased up you will then need to install your OEM adapters. All OEM adapters are the same in this case from Coilover- Factory/Lowered Springs. These items will look like a cone.

8. At this time you are ready for the top plates. The top places can be assembled the spring for easy installation or you can piece it together. By assembling the slides to the top plates we usually take 2 of the 4 bolts for the slides and cross them so the bearing slider can not slide on the top mount.

9. Once the top plates are on you are ready for the shock nut to go back on. Make sure everything is correctly installed with a double check.

10. If all is well then unload the spring to seat against the top hat.

11. Put the shock back into the car and get the car aligned ASAP. Failure to get the car aligned will decrease the tire life significantly and OverKill will not be responsible.

12. Once the car is back on the ground take for a quick spin to make sure the steering is ok and the car is SAFE to drive. If there is a problem please do not continue to drive and contact OEM ASAP.

If you would like to get replacement parts please send your order # and Contact info along with the parts requesting. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
