I defiantly like some of your idea's. There is too much play in the steering wheel in the b14's, I would be down for something like that. I am putting too much steering effort in sometimes in corners this should save some fatigue on my arms. Aluminum cross member if it saves 10Lbs and eliminates those junk rubber bushings maybe even tie in with the control arm brace that would be so excellent... I'm down for both options.

I disagree with the aluminum cross-member. It is heavy and that is a good thing. It keeps your CG lower to the ground. If you want to lose weight take out your sun roof and put a sun roof filler in (an idea for you guys at OEM, easy to make), take out your headliner, and lose some weight off yourself. Keep your weight down low for a lower CG. Plus, that much aluminum will NOT be cheap or easy to manufacture.



If your Power steering is requiring that much effort then your rack is probably blown. If you have too much play in your steering you have other issues besides the cross member flexing. First replace your control arm bushings, new ball joints, new tie-rod ends, and rack and pinion bushings then come back and see if you think b14s have lose steering. You also might need stiffer sidewall tires. If you still feel that it is not snappy enough then get an OEM/Progress/Whiteline LCA brace and see what you think. The only time you would ever notice the cross-member flexing would be under high G turns at a track. I am pretty sure you don’t have your rear beam bent on your b14 so I highly doubt you are pulling those kind of high G turns.

My suggestion for you guys would be a SCCA and NASA approved nx2000 t-top, sentra sunroof, and 200sx sunroof fillers. I would think a cheap removable t-top filler for the nx2000 that conforms to solo IT and club ITA rules would be awesome. The sunroof fillers would be super easy for you guys to make and manufacture and I don’t think the other guy that made these is selling them anymore.

Independent rear suspension for the b14... that would be awesome...

i never said that it had to be aluminum. i was going more for two steel tubing with a sheet between with holes in it that removes those bushings to the rad support. if it could could connect with the control arms it would stiffen up the from considerabley just as if the car had a real subframe.

thats a good point on the removing weight from the lower half of the car. i was going more for getting the car so its not as heavy in the front. could the weight of an added control arm brace make up for the reduced crossmember weight. then there is no lose in COG but added stiffness.

I do like the idea of t-top fillers alot because i never open mine anyway. My concern would be i wouldnt want to lose any rigidity by putting filler in either. Just because the outside edge above the door seems to play a roll in the bodys structure keeping it from flexing as much. although i have heard the t-tops NX's body is more rigid than the hard top i would still have concerns with the filler if it didnt have something to keep structure in it.

I agree. The fillers would need to not take away from the stiffness of the NX. The reason I said SCCA approved fillers is because they demand the fillers be made of the same material around it (metal in this case). Make a t-top filler that is half the weight but just as strong that is not a permanent filler, would have amazing benefits in many areas (speed, body roll, CG, etc.).

Love this idea for the temorary fillers.The latches would be the hardest thing to do...I would think.

My list of Ideas.....some have been mentioned already.
-300zx brakes for the front.
-Bracket for cruise control on a VE swap.
-Harness bar/camera mount.
-Airbox or heatsheild for filter/intake
-Battery tie down similar to Stillen,but with Overkill Engineering Motorsports engraved instead .Maybe even a version for the odyssey battery upgrade.
-Kit to relocate the battery to the rear...Just the mounting parts,and tiedown,not the wiring .
-NX Radiator diversion plate
-NX t-top fillers
-NX parcel shelf pivots and hinges
-Flat Aluminum splitter for the NX that would go on the 626 lip

a 3inch testpipe or high flow cat(with the o2 bung,for us B14 guys)
