Original tyres 195/55/14 not to be found
The original tyre size, 195/55/14 isn't available any longer. While I'm not so happy with that, I wonder, do you know where to get those tyres? Second hand is no problem.

My question. I've learned that 165/60/14 has the exact circumference that no speede difference would occur and my car has ABS.

Would it hurt to install 165/60/14 instead of 195/55/14?

The difference in width is about one inch 1/5. The NX1600 has 175 width tyres.

Please let me know what you think. Meanwhile I noticed this Toyo Celsius Tires - Road Review | Busted Wallet My wallet isn't busted but I prefer all season and this tyre is available in 165/60/14 and from it's review there is no need spending more bucks for a 'better' tyre and next to the looks, losing one inch 1/5 on tyre width I wonder what handling I may expect. Or the lack of it. Thanks!

It will handle worse cause skinnier tires but cut through any snow or water real quickly. I would get 15 inch wheels and thank the Miata boys for the 15 inch tire choices we still have.

Yah, are you absolutely committed to 14" wheels?

Miata? I'll check it out, doesn't seem cheap or easy but I might have a friend there.

For the 14", yes I'm comitted but I'm really committed to the lightness of the original rims. That said, running those for several years now, I actually like it's looks also. Heck I'm looking for a fifth. The spare tyre won't turn around on the front, only the back. It is a Nx1600 I bought it with. I've learned recently a Nx2000 comes with five rims.

Maybe a bit premature but I actually would consider buying an original rim here, with the best offer on shipment or in that range for boat shipment. The consider part is just the shipping cost which I have no impression of yet.

This rim is still 14" but can you confirm it is a b13 rim? A rim 15" in this style and era would make me happy. I didn't check tyre sizes but fiddling with calculators I expect to find a zero difference 15" replacement tyre.

Look on the inside (back) of the wheel (that would face the car) for the specifications. It does not look like a familar B13 item to me.

I would get 205 50 14 instead if that exists

I've used a calculator, your size might exist but I need to recheck it. I came up with 215/40/50 with a difference of 0.09% When I have time I'll calculate difference from new tires to worn tires to see what kind of margin the speedo has. With a 3% difference I'll be sure to see speedo difference and I like to get up to speed with the tacho, more readable in most cases in common maximum speeds. Or I'll drop some 165's on it, this is 0% difference but a bit small though.
