Closest thing I could find at a glance was this archived thread from the other SR20 forum:

Hmm. I'm pretty good at finding books. I'll see if I can't find it and report back!

EDIT: Well, that was fast! I just bought a copy for $1.20 and $3 shipping lol

Hey, 94 was a great year for the NX1600 in europe! GA16DS turned into GA16DE, and to quote wikipedia " From April 1993 to 1996, the 100NX was sold with a more efficient fuel injected setup."

You can find -95 and -96 NX1600's, (built in late 94?, but sold later on)

Got an Email back! Here is the response:

So, Tauriq, my book costs more to ship than to buy, eh? Sic transit gloria—so goes glory—as they said in ancient Rome. Well, those few leftover author’s copies I have aren’t probably going to be enough to fund my retirement. :-/

That said, the numbers came from a “fact book” that Automotive News, the biggest automotive trade publication in the country, used to publish every year. They were still doing it when I wrote the book. Alas, with the cost of paper… Anyway, that was my source.

NOW, in exchange for this nugget of information, I want you and all your friends to go to CarBuzzard.com and subscribe for a weekly update of articles published on the site. It’s normally free, but for members of the forum I’ll let you have it for half off. You don’t get a deal like that every day.

Thanks for your interest in the book. And yeah, tell your friends about CarBuzzard as well.

John Matras "

So its looking like we have a source for the source. Im gonna go with these numbers are legit comparing them to the numbers for the SE-R also which was way more popular then our cars and still there werent many produced! Im sure more 93 NX2000's were produced world wide. But those numbers seem to confirm that the 93 NX2000 is VERY rare! Not really a rumor anymore

That means there are:
3337 '91's
5446 '92's
293 '93's!

.....I will also say Mr. Matras has written a good amount of cool articles/books and there is one in particular called top 100 cars you should drive (or something close to that name) thats a pretty cool read! Anyway good luck finding the 93's guys !! Mine will be sleeping in the garage and not driven in salt for as long as possible!

Check out Carbuzzard.com also!

I have seen more 1993 NX 2000's than any other year so I am instantly confused but appreciate the information presented.

I dunno, I have a hard time trusting those numbers. I have seen enough 93's to be suspicious, and thats 15-20 years after they were made. Most I see are 92's for sure. I almost think I've seen as many 93's as 91's. Definitely have seen more 93 NX's than 94 SE-R's.
