93 NX2000 AC Compressor Interchange - B14?
This is very 93 NX specific so I hope you don't mind this goes here rather than technical:
I have a 93 NX2000 manufactured 12/92 retrofitted to R134a (looks like quality hardware FWIW).
I got some High/Low Gauges and found my low pressure side is too high (around 90 psi+ at idle, around 45psi at 4000rpms) and my higher pressure side is too low (a straight 150psi all the time). Also my AC is cold at 4000rpms but useless anywhere lower and it's getting worse so I believe my compressor is on it's way out.
Can anyone confirm what I've found on a few sources?
The B14 AC Compressor from 95-98 on BOTH the 1.6 and 2.0 is interchangeable with the 93 NX2000 AC compressor (93 NXes made from 7/92 to 12/92, apparently the older 93s had the 91-92 compressor).
They're all identified as Calsonic DKV14D
Original part number appears to be: 92600-68Y00 (rated for both R12 and R134a)
92600-68Y00 - Nissan COMPRESSOR
which is replaced by: 92600-68Y21 (officially rated for R134a as it was all they were doing then anyway and also titled Calsonic DKV14D)
Autozone FWIW also shows the same compressor for a 97 B14 1.6 as for a 93 NX2000.
If this is true, this compressor will be easy to find. Will my lines bolt into it? Am I crazy?
Here is my shopping list BTW for the setup from RockAuto - I'll report back:
New Expansion Valve
New Dryer
New O-Rings
PAG Oil (100?)
Professional flush/refill after the new parts are installed
Thanks in advance - happy to post photos of the procedure if there is interest.
