Thread: wierd noise from ????

im going to change my axle today. hopefully thats the problem... the sound actually got worse when i took everything apart and put it back together again... so i dont understand whats going on... on my way to get the axle...

UPDATE.... changed the axle and the problem is still there. F U CK !!! im out of ideas im going to check and see if everything is tight atound the car and see what the f u c k is going on...

i'll be there Saturday to pick up the block, i'll look at it. I bet it's something really stupid!

it probably is man im tired of messing with it im out of options...im going to change the passenger side axle for the hell of it cause i got one and im done with the car

well changed the passenger and the noise is still there. . . . . im just going to drive it till whatever is making noise breaks cause i cant find it for nuthing.. i hope it aint nuthing in my tranny......

but i dont think its that because it does the sound in neutral and with the clutch pushed in...

possible separating tire? You said you can feel it in the steering wheel.... But, then, I was a tire tech originally. That's where I always look first. Neurosis I guess.

i did the test without tires and i herd a similar sound. but i will check on that n e ways

its not the tire if the car made noise on the lift, unless the tire is contacting something.

If you did all that and didn't overlook anything, I wonder if the noise is coming from the differential...

i dunno its making the noise when on the lift its not as loud but you can here and the car sways back and forth with the sound.. i have notice thatat slow speeds like 10 miles per hour it does not do it but when i past 20 it comes and once it starts it will not go away till i do a dead stop.. then it will not come back till i get till 20 again. it almost feels like something is vibrating and hitting something.. i dunno i have a sound clip but i dunno how to put it up..

NOTE I DID DO A NEW CLUTCH SET UP WITH LIGHT FLYWHEEL AND THROW OUT BEARING

but the sound was not noticible at all till maybe 2 weeks ago and not its has gotten worse
