Help on NX1600 to NX2000 conversion (Wiring)
Alright I have not gotten an answer on how exactly to go about doing this. My 1992 NX1600 is in pieces right now mainly because the timing chain went out on the GA16. I decided to upgrade it to a USDM SR20DE that I found with low mileage. The donor car was a 95 200sx SE-R. I know my way around the SR20 because I also have a classic SE-R.

The only thing holding me back right now is the wiring. Going from an ODBI to ODB II wiring system is proving to be a pain.. I have heard about some using their old GA16 wiring harness and using an SR20 ECU.

I am asking if anyone has experience with the wiring in a swap like this or if someone could provide the wiring diagram for the 1995 B14. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do have both the GA16 ODBI harness and SR20 ODBII harness if splicing of connectors is involved. I learned this is not a plug and play affair.

Here are some pictures of the project so far.

get a 94 SER harness and things will just plug right up to your 200sx SER motor. At minimum get a 93 SER or NX2000 harness

Should the under dash wiring also work with a 94 harness? The difference in the plugs are what is scaring me. Again thanks for your help

Also how hard would it be to find a 94 harness? None of the local yards had any SE-R s at all for that matter. Should I just keep my eye open on the forum for one? I need to get the car together ASAP anyways.

Under dash harness should be the same. I have a 93 Sentra SE, dropped in an SR20 with an engine harness from a 92 SE-R everything plugged right up.

Well so I have the harness now and what still makes me wonder is the SR20 ECU has a white plug, and the blue plug from the 93 harness wont wont work.. Do I need to get an ODBI ECU also? Or do I need to do some splicing?

your wasting your time making the car obd2. simply use b13 ecu, maf, and dizsy. it will plug up. keep it obd1.
