I am not going to relive old stuff, but lets say you bought a brand new NX2k in the rust hole of Indianapolis and then you drove it there in the weather for a few years. It developed hot spots and then you just let the car sit. Some under an open car port and some in a garage. The rear hatch had a rust spot where the window seal was. It let water leak into the hatch and run down the rear into the spare area. Lets also say you never perform any maintenance on said car other than an oil change every so many miles or 3-4 years. The brake fluid turns to water but you still drive the car. Well then you have a sticking rear caliper caused from rusting of the internal components of the caliper from the moisture in the fluid. You also never replace the PVC valve, fuel filter, and any seals of rings especially the fuel pump ring which are known to go bad on B13s.You just have a car that has sat for almost 20 years but then you go to sell it. You do not tell the new owners any of that information. You scam and cheat to try and make it look like it is something it was not in order to get 6+ grand for the thing at an online auction.
I have sorted through most of the things with this car. I just got through putting a new rear brake caliper on it, had a body-shop friend fix the rust, new fuel filter, pvc valve, rubber seals, fuel lines, struts, new thermostat, new spark plugs, clean MAF and air filter, new front rotors (did not really need them but) and turned and installed rear rotors. Oh yeah also replaced both t tops from sun dried damage. From everything I have seen the car mileage IMO is the only thing the guy did not lie about. I did not really pay that kind of money in order to have to do all the work which I have done to it. I am happy with it now, it drives like it is brand new and leaks no fluids. Going up to 48,000 miles currently but this was not an easy by any means project.
