There are very few junkyards in my area

Found by checking all the junkyards for mint condition nx's.
If i found another set...shipping would be an issue for most on here.

I called a company of t top and top manufacturer companies out there, believe it or not there is quite a few. They told me that our tops come apart real easy and are easy to put back together. I really did not believe them until I did it for my self. I took one apart to see how easy it is and it really is easy. The painted piece is an insert which color matches the car. a bunch of 10 mm bolts and screws and it separates with ease.

Here is a before shot

Here is an after shot

the glass is molded in together with the seals making it a perfect one piece insert. It is really pretty simple. I can make a write up if you guys would like one but it is easy as long as you have the right tools.

I am happy with the results.

Hmmm,ok...so thats a new ttop or is it a new seal on your old ttop???....
I thought you found a place to buy new seals and put them on your glass and what not.

Please clarify,or am I the only one confused?
I have taken the ttops apart before,as far as I could disaasemble them...and didnt see a way to detach the rubber from the glass.

The t-top is a molded piece of glass that is all done as one casting when they original made them. They are stamped. If you pull all the cosmetic stuff off you will see 4 10 mm nut screws that hold the lock and pin slides in. You have to be really really careful and really 20 year old NX pieces that have been weathered a lot probably would break. The drip trim is one piece you can remove once you pull the plastic pin brackets off. These plastic pin pieces slide the molding flush to the sides of the car. Then you can separate the outer trim weather strip from the main frame of the t top (5 sheet metal screws). Really you should probably reseal them with some black RTV but they will not leak unless you live in Oregon or Florida. Once you pull the color keyed insert out it really is just a reassemble process to the new t top frame that you have in good condition. From there wham bam you have a new t top....

I can write a more detailed explanation if you still need it or make a write up. It is not hard at all cause I did it. LOL

funny is I will probably do the passengers side once I find another good one. I never knew they are actually rubber instead of hard plastic.

I need to do this to mine really bad. I have two extra sets of T tops, I'll have to check the condition of their seals.

Where did you manage to purchase the door and top seals that typically leak? I need these really badly, it's like Chinese water torture!

I am willing to PAY decent money for a set of glass tops with good seals. If anyone comes across them, PM me.

There has to be some kind of universal moulding that can be affixed to the glass...
