So I've done this.....
It looks destroyed. Can I replace that cv joint or am I looking for an axle?

Bearing race is bust up in the back as well. Went out on the interstate. Limped it home. Been parked a month or more waiting for time to take it apart. Rust is from when I got it home I cut the boot off to look at it but it was dark and on the ground so I couldn't see it.

Raxles, America's premier supplier of OE quality CV Axles and CV joints | Raxles.com

Says he has NO more sr20 axles. Says everyone was putting the Chinese axles on so he wasn't getting any cores back to refurb

Dammit. I thought I heard something like that.
OEM might be your only option then. I refuse to put Chinese parts on my car. The parts stores crap is known to fail in about a year. Useless axles. They also sometimes don't come with the vibration damper so you get awesome vibrations.

I know OEM axles cost an arm and a leg, but to me they would be well worth it for many reasons. Reverse the cycle!

I wonder if you send in a Raxles axle (or OEM) if they'll rebuild it and send it back?

How do I make sure mine is OEM. I know drivers side there is a damper that gives it away. But passenger half shaft as far as I have seen has no real indicators

I have no idea. The axle boot might be a good way to tell. If it lasted you more than a year or two, it probably wasn't Chinese.
