Thread: Anyone have a spare NX2k rear caliper lying around? I need some measurements

So, I was wondering, what is the diameter of the USDM NX2K rear pistons?

Is it 30 mm (1-3/16)? Or 34 mm (1-5/16)?

I want to know if the USDM rears are smaller than the EDM ones.

No, I don't want any rear EDM calipers, I'm just trying to find out if the pistons of the rear USDM calipers are the same size, or smaller. The EDM ones are 34mm, I want to know if the USDM ones are 34 as well, or 30mm. And only someone with those calipers can tell me that, so stop polluting my topic with info about EDM units :P.

No, not really. The RockAuto website lists the EDM 1.6 rear disc-brakes as the ones for the USDM NX2K, but that doesn't mean they are actually the same. If they are, it means that we Europeans have better rear brakes than the USDM NX2K's

I also remember something about the actual discs being smaller (I got some Powerslots that were smaller than my OEM rear dics, lister for Sentra/NX), but that may be a difference between the NX and the Sentra.

I think the Sentra SE-R has the same rear brake setup as the EDM (German version) 1.6 rear brake disc setup.

You need to find someone with a USDM NX2k rear caliper just laying around so they can take measurements for you. Maybe a different thread title. Something like "Anyone have a rear NX2k caliper they can measure?"

USA model NX2000 came with the AD7HA rear brakes.
(I *think* AU & NZ also - reference = post #83 here Pics Soth's 1993 NX - PROJECT AWD)
30.16mm cylinder bore, 234 x 7mm rotors.
Euro & Middle East models came with the CL9HA rear brakes.
33.96mm cylinder bore, 258 x 9mm rotors.

If you order rear brake parts for NX2000 listed as with ABS, you will probably get the larger Euro spec parts.

For *fronts* you have to specify w/ABS to get the correct rotors.
