Throw away car? Hardly true.
My NX is garaged, covered and maintained to a high standard. I'm putting about 1500 miles/year on it, and it is spared from daily driver wear and tear. It now has about 58k miles.
I appreciate the concern about tracking, but 1-2 driving events per year is not subjecting the car to excessive abuse. The NX never hit the redline, and the stock brakes and street tires held up well. This is
not racing, and I felt a lot safer at Roebling Road than driving in a Wal Mart parking lot. Driving events like
Seat-time and
Hooked on Driving allow you to drive fast in a controlled environment. I won't be "hammerin" an NX in autocross like our friend, Hank. The fun-to-abuse ratio in autocross doesn't interest me much.
I love this car, and have no interest is selling or trashing it. I have also spent the last 4 years stockpiling new OEM parts for the NX like seats, window trim, AC compressor, etc. Within the last year, the NX has new front control arms, sway bar bushings and rear parallel links. I've got a set of Japanese-spec projector OEM fog lights waiting to be installed.
Looking forward to sharing my NX experience with you in the future. Don't worry about this NX. It's in a good home.
Dean
