I appreciate the concern about tracking, but 1-2 driving events per year is not subjecting the car to excessive abuse. The NX never hit the redline, and the stock brakes and street tires held up well. This is not racing, and I felt a lot safer at Roebling Road than driving in a Wal Mart parking lot. Driving events like Seat-time and Hooked on Driving allow you to drive fast in a controlled environment. I won't be "hammerin" an NX in autocross like our friend, Hank. The fun-to-abuse ratio in autocross doesn't interest me much.

I love this car, and have no interest is selling or trashing it. I have also spent the last 4 years stockpiling new OEM parts for the NX like seats, window trim, AC compressor, etc. Within the last year, the NX has new front control arms, sway bar bushings and rear parallel links. I've got a set of Japanese-spec projector OEM fog lights waiting to be installed.

Looking forward to sharing my NX experience with you in the future. Don't worry about this NX. It's in a good home.

Dean

I've done, maybe, 10 autocrosses in my life? It's really not what I do much of. I'm not sure were you pulled that out of your ass from. The rest has been DE events, SCCA, NASA and PCA club racing, as well as, HSR and SVRA vintage events. I've crewed and driven in all of the above for the better part of 30 years. I've also karted more laps than I can count. In other words, I've been around. Pretty much every event I've been to, including DE's, there's been someone there fucking up their shit, and on occasion, screwing up other people shit in the process. I don't care how careful or controlled you think it is. If you're not willing to "throw away" your NX in an instant, it shouldn't be out there. Whether you're ignorant or in denial as to what I'm telling you, is irrelevant. The nicest NX in the country. and perhaps in the world, shouldn't be taking on stone chips and being hit with molten rubber....or worse. And yes, it's a jungle on the streets, as well. No shit. It's the reason trailers and garages were invented.

I've said my peace. Have fun puttin' around Roebling making NX's look slow.

this is very true, no body understands the cars like we do, and even though i love these cars, just because his is like brand new doesn't really make it worth a whole lot, i know i wouldn't pay much more then 4k for it (no offense) but its almost a 20 year old car, cars were meant to be driven and enjoyed i love car shows where you can tell the person drove it there and drives it on a regular basis, stone chips and road dirt add character, anyone can drop big money and make the car spend its life under cover and on a trailer

rocknrace03,

I think you're right on the money. We all love the NX, but it is a 20 yr old Japanese sport compact that sold poorly. I don't even think mine is "worth" $4k despite all the upgrade and restoration work I put in it. Hell, I only bought it for $5100 four years ago! My auto insurance agent recommended that I drop the collision coverage since the car was worth so little.

In my mind, the NX2000 is my generation's BMW 2002 or Datsun 240Z. There is no price for the enjoyment and driving one of these around 20 years later. It took me over a year to find this one, and I really believe it would be impossible to find another one like it. I'll try my best to keep the NX faith!

I can honestly say this though....kinda off topic. But I just put together and now own my First B13 SE-R. All these years Ive been attracted to NX2000's even though when I was first looking I was looking for a B13 SE-R. I just happened to stumble upon the NX2K. The rest was history.

Having said all that...the SE-R just feels so souless to me. Theres no taking the tops off. No hearing the motor and the rush of wind whenever you want when its warm. Cruising the beach in the SE-R and the NX are two totaly different experiences. Hell you cant even take the T-top shades off in the winter to stare at the stars when your at a light, or watch the snow wiz pass the top of your head. I can honestly say that theres nothing like a DET plus the NXs ttops in the summer. Im an NX guy all day. Just wish there were more around!

You know theres something about these cars when you can afford WAY nicer cars and you STILL own one! My Nx is far from a throw away car

Being an nx owner myself, you learn to appreciate other NXs due to the fact that you NEVER see these cars around and to see a great condition one just makes it that much better. On top of that, you are tracking the car which is very cool, im sure those guys on the track had no idea what car it was untill you told them or they saw the nissan badge.

On a side note, almost every day over the past 2 weeks i've had people come up to me and either compliment me on the car, or ask me what the hell it was, or both!!

Keep doing what your doing with the car man. Theres no fun in keeping it garaged all the time!!

.....and back in the day I could pick up a GTO for $400.

History repeats itself.

Your showing your age Hank lol

I agree with both sides of the story. I really love the Sentra SE-R but the first time Alex took me for a ride in "our" NX I was hooked. The rush of the air by the t-tops is awesome.

This is impossible. I bet your hatch struts still work, and they are original. You probably have all the interior trim pieces in perfect seated place, where there are no rattles. The universe is NOT fair, and you, fellow NX owner. You should be the subject of pure automotive envy by this entire community for having by far the nicest example of a B13 chassis I have EVER seen be it online or in person. I thought I would never see one nicer than MR. SER's.. today is the day though. Absolutely gorgeous NX2000. If there is one that will be worth something At barret jackson, it very well could be this. keep it safe.

I am green with envy. That NX looks exactly like mine down to the wheels and even the muffler. Mine is not nearly that clean though. Mine has 326,000 on it. Would love to see more pictures of the car.
