All this happens and my phone did not ring once. Be careful of who gives you advice. Get a Modine radiator from Radiators Express. BTW, you need a new alternator. Get an upper and lower radiator hose, an alternator, may as well get a new alternator belt too. When will you guys listen to experience.

Pipen Radiators. They used to be on 3rd and 3rd in Brooklyn, but they moved according to Chipey23.
They have the radiator you need. Get a Brass Modine. Do not use a SE-R radiator despite what anyone tells you. NX radiators are 2 core.
You do not have to go to the dealer for every item you know.
Radiator hoses are radiator hoses. Just get the SR20 radiator hose and cut it down to fit the NX. To replace the alternator, you have to take off the upper hose water outlet do this is a good time to do it. Get the brass radiator. An all aluminum KOYO is for hardcore racers. Also, a Stant 300ZX thermostat and radiator car are just as good an any dealer part. And much cheaper.

This is very not true, to get the alty out, you need to remove the passenger side motor mount and both radiator fans and jack the motor waaay up and it will slip right out through the top under the radiator hose.
I have had to do is at least 5 times now, and stopped having to do it once I upgraded to the 00-01 altima alternator.

Charlie, if that works then I will do it that way cause I hate antifreeze in the worst way.

I have changed the alternator a few times on mine and on others (once in the rain)... but have done it with less work

I remove the water outlet on the head, remove the alternator bracket, undo the rad mounts (top) to get some wiggle room, upper rad hose (obviously), and then spin the alternator so the pulley faces up and pull/wiggle it out, it's close

This is with a slightly thicker NX radiator, a/c, and I have a BBdet... no need to remove the passenger mount in my experience

If you need an inch extra space you can jack the engine up SLIGHTLY without mount removal but I have never needed to but each situation is different.

Hope this helps some.

It seems like this was the winter for everyones alternator to go out here in Maryland... We have found that the Autozone and other aftermarket lifetime altys are mostly trash and dont last long (Charlie changed/returned 5 of them)...

My recommendation is to install an OEM alty. Either new or one from the junkyard (Sentra, G20, Altima, etc).. Will save you lots of headaches in the future..

BTW, water or any kind of liquid is not a good idea on an alternator or any other electical motor... You were lucky that yours is still working!
