Thread: Ice Cream Paint Job

What kind of paint job are you getting done. I have painted my NX..... 3 times now. Everytime the material cost has been different. Are you doing a single stage? 3 stage? Pearl? Candy? Metallic? Matte? Flat? graphics? two-tone? What kind of primer? Do I need to keep going? Since you want all the colors of Ben and Jerry's Ice cream, you sir are screwed I have absolutely no idea how much that will cost. My ice cream paint schemes have never gone well.......

A couple of gallons of Icecream will cost you $5 a gallon. If your going to use cookies and cream look up wards to spending $6 a gallon. Shaws supermarkets usaually have great deals if you purchase in huge quantitys. Make sure you keep them all frozen up until the point your ready to spray the car. Prep work is the most important if anything. All together you would need under 3-4 gallons.

A quart sounds about right for a whole car. I base this on my Nx2000. Don't forget the blanc paint and the other stuff you will need probably comes cheap at the place where you will be going to paint, it doesn't really make sense to let you buy primer and sanding paper and tape and covers for example. So I would talk to him again about this and ask him if he can order the paint for you and agree on a price for the consumables. I'd say you won't get them that cheap anywhere else, and it is not doable to calculate that first.

It depends on what other supplies you are using and what you are all painting. We used a gallon of primer on my car, and upwards of 6 qts of paint, 1 gallon of clear etc,etc. Without being more specific on what you are going to all paint all we can do is toss #'s around.

You may use a gallon of paint on your dash on the level of bling you want to acheive.

Just drive it into a tree... it would look better than what you have planned. Holla @ SeaTac!
