OEM 3" exhaust
Anyone have experience with these? I found sound clips, but hows the fitment? Does the muffler center in the bumper? Alos, any sound clips of 3" w/ and w/o resonator?

You want a muffler on that?

I think double exhaust will look better. Also, take a look under the car for the gas tank and swaybar

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you. But your question confused me.

3" is meant for turbo'd cars, as optimum performance, not OEM. I've read your question twice and still am under the impression you will end up with a lot of noise. I believe a car with a very loud muffler/ exhaust system, is uncool.

Your question, does the muffler center in the bumper is rhetoric, of course it does! But stuff like the gastank, space for the spare tire, (upgraded) swaybar etc. are equelly important then a center muffler.

This also means, you can pull it off, if you really want this. Take a look at the place of the parts I mentioned and the space the stock muffler has and what space you have on the other side.

If you want to drop the car a few inches, that will become a problem.

Better first decide how much drop you need for handling and then start thinking about bodykits/ custom exhaust in a not OEM place. That way you won't regret when you are done.

I have OEM 3" exhausts on both the NX and my SE-R. Both cars are VE'd and setup more for track than street. Unless you want the most power out of your VE or turbo and are willing to put up with the volume, I would stick with a 2.5" exhaust. A 3" is too loud for a street car IMHO. As far as fitment, I had to tweak both a little, but no major issues. I could take some pics of how it sits in the NX if you would like.

I have a 4-1 custom header with long primaries that amazingly sounds quiet and nice as hell, so im not worried about noise. This header makes all the difference in the weorld when it comes to noise. I bet open header is quieter than some peoples 2.5 or 3" exhaust set-ups with ssac or similar headers. with just a 3" with a magnaflow 5x8, no res, no cat, on my buddies car(when he owned my header)- its not loud. It just purrrrrs. But thanks for all the input. Im not going with a built VE yet, so ill prob. go with a 2.5 from oem, or andreas.

@ Richard: OEM means both Original Equipment Manufacturer (meaning stock parts) and Overkill Engineering Motorsports, one of the Forum Vendors. Here the latter is meant.

@ steve: Don't worry, he confuses us on the Dutch Nissan100NXClub as well
