Thread: for your nx...

so i was going to maek somthing and send it to this company
( _._._. )to make copies to sell to you guys(nx owners)....and i posted a pic and some info of what i made,which got mysteriously deleted for some odd reason... and

and then i thought,why make somthing that would be used and sold without any bennift to me?and another reap the rewards??? i know its to help out our community,which is great, but part of me feels like it was a dick move not to send it out-to be used as a copy/outline...... i have not decided if id like to send it out to be ''remade''.....and im sure they would read this and wonder...

anyways i thought id share my creation and see the response of it...and what you guys think...this would be to help the nx's cooling and direct the airflow to the radiator , rather then over the top of the rad support,and it looks kinda cool...i think with this and a good undertray/ lower air diverter,could deffinetly help with cooling the nx...directing air thru the radiator...tho i have ne real proof of the outcome as far as lowering temps goes....

this is a satin aluminum finish...it sorta slips/wedges into place,its kind hard to see by the pic,but there is a little lip on the rad support where it goes under,and it also goes under the rubber trim where the hood and bumper meet...its really secure,and doesnt screw into anything the way it mounts...if you zoom into the pic in PB, you can see the LIP on the rad support im talking about,and the rad support needs to be staight.no front ends damage....




i know ther ewas some interest in somthing like this...and im willing to make more.

i think it looks pretty good, the end looks unfinished, maybe they could be made a 1/4-3/8 longer then bent and smashed for a more finished look with hand brake ? that will also get rid of the sharp edges on the end, or maybe it can be made out of thiner stuff, but then it will become unstable ? i think companies like to use thin stuff and put a bend/kick in it for stability

i see what you mean,i didnt smooth out the edges ...but its about 1/8 thick ...and pretty sturdy as is..and if i were to bend the edges down(where it almost meets the headlights) it would hit my mk2 vw projectors....but it could definetly be 1-2 incehs longer(maybe with stock headlights) but it already goes 1-2 incehs past the end of the rad...

i dont mean just bend them down, i mean bend them all the way around, i work in the sheetmetal trade and have been meaning to make one of these that goes all the way over and also hide the top of the headlights, you are on the right track though

look under the hood of ur nx...the hood has a buldge that comes down and im not sure if it would fit to conseal the headlight tops,but would look clean as hell....


yeah i might get a hand press/bender form harbor feight and make it go over the rad support and also use it to hold the rad in place instead of thoose ugly meatl brackets with bushings...

I just figured out how these work. FML. I am sorry I doubted how it would work. LOL. It covers that space by the lock...duh! I was thinking it was over the radiator shroud.

yea i think it would have to be in three piece to go over the headlights, i think if you use a hand brake, and go with thinner stuff it will be very stable and look very nice, not sayin it looks bad but with a brake you will be able to do more with it

ok so on MY nx, ihave vw golf headlights...and looking back at my old nx pics...with stock oem headlights, a filler peice is possible to cover ALL area between rad support and bumper....but a in 3 pecies..maybe even one ...

but with the vw lights.they are taller,and i think would be harder/ant might not work...ill try one day,but i made it as wide as is in the pic becasue thats where the edges met/touch the headslight housing...

....
