Ya i checked for the wiring on my Nx under the column, I did that mod to my other B13 Sentra's that were all 93's and they were wired under the dash so. I have read a few threads about all b13 fog light mods and there are a few people that have mentioned that their 91/2's were wired like 93/4's and vice versa. So I guess it's actually like a hit and miss situation really. But good input! Thanks

Chris,
You keep mentioning B13 Sentras. Our NX foglamps are not wired like Sentra's. The actual Foglamp itself is also different. So as for Sentras, I wouldnt know anything about the wiring foglamp problems.

But as for NXs, the FSM shows the different wiring found in the 93's.. For the 91/92's, only one set of wiring is shown. I just checked it again. But, anything is possible with these NX's!! You could have a 93 wireup. If you do, there will not be a purple wire on the steering harness. If you have a purple wire, then you have the 91/92 wiring setup.

I will pull my testing procedure for 93's and post my findings.. But, I havent posted it before now because its currently incomplete and I didnt want to post any Bogus information.

Exactly, My car is a 92 and it DOES NOT have a purple wire under the column where the others should be... Thats what I'm saying not all 91/2's are like they should be or 93/4's for that matter.

Blinking Side Marker Mod
Instructions for making side marker lights flash with turn signals.

These instructions were written up from a mod provided by Fonque..
I installed this mod on both of our Eggs.

Everything works perfectly. The modded side markers come on with parking lights as they should and they flash with the turn signals or hazards as appropriate.

One interesting note: if the headlights are on, the front blinker and side marker flash alternately, with the lights off, they flash simultaneously.

1) Remove Side Marker Housing by unscrewing/removing both screws. Remove the Side Marker Housing and note the orientation of the unit;
as the unit only installs one-way.
2) Remove the light bulb holder from the side marker housing.
3) Cut the Black ground wire on the side marker holder leaving enough wire for a new connection (2" or so).
4) Cap the Black ground feed wire part of the cut to avoid deteriation & exposure using some electrical tape.
5) Locate the Blinking Turn light wires at that corner of the car. Determine the positive lead for the lamp.
6) Expose the Blinking Positive Lead wire by removing some of the cover. Attach a new wire to the exposed wire
by securely taping both wires together or by cutting the wire completely & using a shrink-wrap connector.
7) Feed the new wire securely thru the car to the Side Markers. Avoid sharp edges and hot surfaces.
8) At the Side Marker holder, connect the new wire to the negative side marker wire using tape or shrink-wrap connector.
Test the connection by turning on the emergency flasher. If it blinks, you done this correctly.
If not, you have screwed up somewhere. STOP and go find where you messed up...
9) Reinstall the Side Marker holder into the housing. Reinstall the housing with the 2 screws.
10) Now, Go to the other 3 corners of the car and do exactly the same procedure.

* Normal NX/Sentra Blinker (+) Wire Connections (test to make sure):
Front Left - Green/Black.............Front Right - Green/Yellow
Rear Left -- Green/Black.............Rear Right -- Green/Yellow

Note: This mod actually works on any car with non-blinking side markers.

Benifits...
1) The sidemarkers will blink on and off with the Turn signals.
2) You do not need to install new blinking bulbs with this mod.
3) It involves only connecting the sidemarker ground to the positive lead of the blinker circuit (utilizing a floating ground from the blinking circuit).
4) The biggest Benifit: Cars/trucks traveling beside the car can now see your turning lights blinking. (They still wont let you in though).

Notice: I am not responsible if while/after performing this mod causes damage to your body or car. I am also not responsible if applying the mod causes you to break some federal/state/local law or regulation.

Good Luck...

Chris,
Believe me.. I know that wiring differences exist in the same model & year of our cars.. Its crazy. I once thought differences had to do with installed car options but found all of the cars has wiring for equipment not installed at the factory (AC, power windows/locks, etc). Who knows why??

So YES... I believe you..

Im going to cleanup my notes on performing the Foglamp mod on 93's. I will post it up in a few days. Ive tried many things including adding new relays to the circuit. But, the internal relays has killed my attempts. I have yet to identify all relays within the Headlamp/Foglight/Parking Light/Custer circuitry. All are wired together and controled by relays & switches with the Emergency blinkers attached for good measures.

But to accomplish independant control of the foglights with the switch only, my only suggestion at this point is to actually cutoff the foglight wires from the harness and wire them directly to the switch. And wiring the other side of the foglamp switch to a 12v direct feed from a switch device (radio, lighter, etc). On the 12v feed, I would install an in-line 10amp fuse and a 3amp diode (w/Cathode strip on the relay switch side) for source circuit protection. This is probably alot easier, although its very a ugly hack solution electronically. Seal up all of your cuts really good to avoid other/future problems.

I have posted it above.

Ive done lots of electronic mods: LED conversion of all dash lights & center console, HVAC - NX slider control to G20 push button control, Blinking side markers, Radio "ON" until Door Open Mod, Under dash Floor lights, alarm w/locks & remote start, NX1600 Digital cluster mod (w/dual connectors plugs wired for both analog & digital clusters), EDM headlight conversion mod and many others.. All possible on our Eggs.. Just takes patience and time to figure out how to make it work... Hacking at its best!
