One thing I find true though, my friend truly has a low mileage classic w/o A/C that he hardly drove until recently (he owns an EVO and VR4) and if the car is parked outdoors, there will be rust in the engine bay and bolts. It can be a deceving game to the unaware. That said, that NX is still a good example, TMU and all.

I actually had a total fit one of my visits to a local IL test facility who entered my mileage as 99,998 instead of 9,998 (the actual mileage) so I had to go into the main office and WAIT for them to do the proper update that same hour and I can only hope both didn't show up (then again I had a 2001 Truck where they made a title transfer mistake putting it down at 172547 miles instead of the actual 72547 miles when we purchased our current Diesel truck from AZ a few years ago (had to get 'corrected title' on that one too!)

Sometimes I hate the DMV or smog testing or even 'dealerships' for typos on odometer but I guess we are all human!

Pretty sure this is similar to what happened to my old P10. All the records made sense except for the last one. It was marked as 142k miles when it clearly should have been 124k miles. So then when I got the title in it said ODO was not true. Then the emission testing place put the wrong vin down so the vehicle was down as never being tested. People piss me off sometimes.

I have to agree with Andre... The white NX he bought was the nicest one I have seen. The car was near mint.

This is indeed very true!

Photos can hide so much unfortunately (learned this the hard way a few times) but seeing a car in person, inspecting it and taking it for a test drive tells all the tales!

Heck, we just went to test drive a car advertised as 'mint' and 'excellent condition' ...well, the body and interior were what I would call good (some dents and dings and scratches and 1 small burn mark on the driver's seat) BUT the 'mechanicals' were NOT mint (thing needed front suspension, front control arm bushings, clutch was beyond needing to be replaced and the amount of 'slop' in the shifter was so bad you would think you were in neutral when you were in a gear there was so much damn play!) BUT the car was 'advertised' as excellent with all sorts of 'recent maintenance' listed (just not what we found wrong is all)

Car fax shows it to be legit, had an odo statement back in 06 with 31k, does look like it has had 3 owners though

So lets say I have a 92 NX2000, 18 years old.

So if I drive my car every year, say 10,000 miles, it should have 180,000 miles.

Now, everytime I go in for inspection I put in a guage cluster that I put on 2,000 miles a year and switch it out for the guage cluster that I drive around on.

I have a 180,000 mile guage cluster car with 216,000 miles and a 36,000 mile guage cluster in my car.

Trust you me this car was messed up.

im not doubting the car was messed up or that it is not a 32k car. i was only stating what car fax shows. obviously the guy is lying as he is not the original owner. it was sold in 06 and then the title was issued again in feb of this year.
