-1 Sorry Chris, as we are usually on the same page with most things .

I am an sr20 enthusiast. I know there is a lot more out there that don't "play" on the computer. They have stuff I want and don't want to miss sales because it's not posted on here. I agree with buying used things it is the buyers responsibility. Assume the seller is lying always, and only rely on your own senses when making a purchase.

Maybe people shouldn't get so involved in the car sale and just post up the facts and contact info for the seller. Keep your personal comments to yourself. Or state that "I did not see any rust" instead of "it's rust free". Either way post up pics, facts, contact info for the actual seller. And if someone is selling for a "friend" obviously they are going to hype up the car to make a sale. So get a non affiliated member to check it out. This is getting to be pretty much common practice for long distance sales on my other forum.

I personally use the info to see if it's worth my time to go look at it, and not to make a purchase sight unseen.

I said this like 3 years ago and I'm going to say it again. I am going to start a used vehicle inspection service just for things like this. I charge you xxx amount of dollars and you will get a full report with hundred pics, video, comp test, etc. . . I would make alot of money.

good points...

and now that I rethink things, I would just be more cautious about listing something for someone I knew (if such an opportunity ever came up) as I wouldn't want to taint my own great reputation by helping someone else sell something.

didnt read any of this but ask yourself this. did the seller himself even know where to look for the rust that you did find? did he know about the nx2000?? the car i bought my nx from didnt know anything about the car and he also said it was rust free needless to say i know where to look and i found a bit of rust that he was unaware off. so is the seller really to blame?

If you look at the pic you can see rust coming out through the paint on the roll in the rear fender. If I saw that I'd be like

Im just saying. Dont judge a person by just that. Not many people know where to exactly look unless they have knowlage of the car itself. It could have been a honest mistake on his part.

Good point,for sure.
I have been in this situation as a buyer.
The guy had no clue there was rust on the rear strut towers of a car I went to look at.
Well, either that or he was a darn good actor
He was actually embarassed it seemed.Helowered the price by almost half the asking price(which was already a good deal, even with rust)
....I still didnt buy it by the way.

Yeah most sellers don't know ****. I always look in the trunk around the spare tire to see if water in their and it's rusted out. Last time I was looking in there guy was like, "what you looking for? It does have a spare tire." Who the **** cares about a spare tire? As I lifted up the POS worthless carboard piece nissan loves to put in all cars I said "this". Then pointed to a good 8" of water submerging the spare tire.
