http://www.sr20-forum.com/cars/20576-clean-pair-nx2000-vvl-b13-se-r.html

is this the only thread?

If so I hope no one is mad at the poster of the thread. I recently went and looked at a car. I took pics and a video. Wrote up exactly what I thought of the car and what I saw. Now if someone bought that and there was rust or rod knock or whatever and they tried to blame me I would laugh in your face. That is assuming the number was for someone other then the poster and it's not his car.

edit: seen a post where the guy supposedly says the car is rust free. That is something that shouldn't have been said. It's nice that we can check out cars for eachother or make posts selling cars when someones comp is down but please people, either look at it yourself. If it's too far maybe ask for pics of specific areas. This is a sour deal and I'm sorry for those who lost out. Or gave false information that maybe didn't know they were.

I always get another forum member in the area to check out a car before I would buy something like that.

Realy? The buyer has no responsibility here? So I guess you don't inspect the car your about buy before you fork over the cash, because that's not your responsibility right?

What if you told the seller that you want to start taking apart the interior so you can check for rust. I bet any seller wouldn't let you. I don't think anyone knew it had rust untill this thread popped up.

It's not false information since I was unaware.

It's a used car for a whopping $2400. Get over it.

I think the lesson learned is that we should prohibit 3rd party sales.

I think that if a person is going to ask $2600 for an NX, advertise it as near mint, and tell a potential buyer (especially one from another country) multiple times that it's rust free, THEY (seller) should have the decency to at least check out the most common trouble areas. It would take all of what, 20 minutes? Pretty scummy on that dudes part imo...

I hope the seller chooses to be a decent person and refund some of your money. Honestly I think you deserve half of it back.

But, all this buyer should/shoulda this and seller should/shoulda that. Should/shoulda are moral concepts. No one uses morals anymore. They were replaced by laws. So what are the laws regarding a situation like this?

How long does a buyer have to bust a seller for false advertising? What exactly is... near mint?? Do phone calls count for anything??? Tune in next week on... DASH DRAMAAAAA

Exactamundo. This is just how the business of buying a used car goes. If you buy a car without looking it over yourself entirely, you are a damn fool. You cannot expect people's word to be valid. Not even a friend's. He could miss something.

I buy a used car every year or two and run into this every effing time. If i would have known that this car needed 2 axles, 3 sensors, and a complete tuneup when i bought it, i would have asked the seller ( who was a policeman ) to lower the price. But once you buy it there is no recourse. You saw it and you bought it the way it was.

Hope the OP learned something here. sucks, but .....

If someone is making a commission on a sale that isn't his, then turns around and says "as far as I know..." that's not really a legit sale, to me.

Heck, I bought my dad's old car to part out, instead of parting it for him, so that I can take responsibility for all the parts I sell.
