Rust, if you could own a brand new nx....
If you could own a brand new nx, how would you go about preventing the a-pillar rust and the rear strut tower rust? I know improper drainage is the culpret for the a-pillar, is there a way to fix it permanently? Likewise the strut tower if it has no rust to begin with?

#1 Never drive it in the winter.

#2 Never drive it in the rain.

#3 Spray one of the petroleum based anti-rust coatings into the a-pillars, rocker panels, and the inner wheel well spaces every year.

The only way to fix it is to cut out all the bad metal and replace it.

I agree 100% but not driving in the rain might be hard to do if its your daily .... I would/have drill one or two small holes in the bottom of the pillar and paint the bare metal and fill it with rust check seems to work for me so far

Do what I do. Have a daily beater that you can run over random fun things in the road with, and save your NX for nice weekend drives to Wine Vineyards. :-)

Do what I do too.

It's not time efficient, it won't be expensive/hard/need a lot of tools on a decent chassis to start with and it probably will be anoying at some times.

The 1993 Nissan Nx2000 of Richardwbb

It's far for incomplete story (I've got a lot more but it is written in Dutch, sorry)

Get the

and the

and if you find loose rust/get holes/bad paint it's welding and painting.

Manual painting to be used on places you normally won't see (we all work under our car do we? )

Also get the precision tools and mark up paint for your car and some very common tools, sorry no pics.

I'm working on a more complete and clear answer.

But this will save your car from rusting. Ever. (When it's too late, it's welding, still can get ever, but harder)

Weeks of work.

p.s. It might involve taking the car apart where you normally wouldn't do that, like fuel tank, lot's of interrior, etc. Currently I'm having a perfect score besides A pillars (hard but say 95% can be saved) Behind the engine and sub frame (two parts I'm not wanting to take out).

Unnecessary defect:
