Thread: 91 NX2k Vin sticker placement

Hey everyone. i'm pretty new to the NX game.

I just had a question on the vin sticker on the drivers side door.

On the 91's was it placed horizontally or vertically?

I went to see a car today and it was placed horizontally. I've never seen it like that. Every b13 I've owned has had it placed vertically. So when you look at the vin number it reads from top to bottom. This car had it reading from left to right.

I just thought that was odd. A possible sign that the rear fender has been replaced.

Let me know what you guys know about this.

I don't recall exactly how it goes, but you should check the vin on the dash. It has to be on the driver side.

The vin plates and sticker all matched up. I'm just wondering about the the door sticker. If it didn't come like that from the factory I'm thinking that there must have been some repair work done in that area or the rear fender was replaced.

Kdubl I have a 92 NX and the sticker is vertical. The car I looked at today the sticker is horizontal. I'm thinking maybe it was something that might have been done in the 91's. I'm just curious about it. My gut feeling is that the sticker was moved because of a repair.

Just checked and mine are vertical. I'm pretty sure all years are the same. I have a 93...

did you check the vin # on the fire wall, engine bay side? Does that match the other two?

I heard you have to go to DMV for those? When I paint my door jambs, I want to replace the door sticker.
